Brand new build roughly £1000

if i was to take my ssd to someone elses computer and install windows on it there could i just bring it back to my pc and run it?
Yes - although it may pull a virtual grimace, but windows 10 should muddle its way through.

But, really you would be testing the SSD - if it worked on your mates PC it would indicate a fault with your system :/

pretty much gone over the same as earlier but on the new bios,

i tried to install the older bios but it wouldnt let me pop up saying something about you cant go back to old versions...

Or, put it in an unmarked backpack and leave it unattended in an airport lobby and let the army do it's thing...

Just checking up on that CPU error led pic that was posted.
Agreed - i've been too close to the build so overlooked asking this.

I think i;ve asked every other question under the sun - even the tenuous ones...

Hope you're right - very plausible.

I know, you've listed a ton of good bets. I bet the fact that the system powered on, and was able to get to BIOS and semi-install Windows would normally discount any problem with the CPU power, but won't hurt to verify - some boards could provide some power for all we know. Just enough to deceive that everything is fine with that aspect.

Aaaaaaand it's gone. The chance, that is. 8 pin is indeed connected. Thanks for confirming, Evertonhero.

i did google at the time did i need the other slot and everyone was saying no only for high end overclocking??
Yes, your fine @evertonhero - you only need the additional 4 pin for overclocking, as you say.

It was a good thing to check - and one i had omitted in asking.

Well, if you've tried two different USB sticks and they were both formatted to FAT32, and you chose "for Windows on a different PC" as the option for the ISO download, then I'd go with Tammzy's suggestion that it could be the SSD. Both sticks of RAM could be bad, it happens, just not really looking like RAM problem just now to me. Could be a bad Ryzen CPU, there's been a few threads over the last year or so where that was the culprit, as rare as it is. Or mobo. But I'd focus on the SSD first.

Do reseat the CPU as Plec advised though, just to check.

i have tried 3 usbs,

new sata cable
new sata port

additional power cable in gpu

1 ssd

1 hdd

2 ram

1 ram

1 ram in slot 1

2 different bios versions

unplugged all the fans

changed from display port to hdmi

numerous different boot loading priority orders

Forgot about the conventional drive test.

Are you up for a CPU reseat? You don't need to reapply TIM if you're very careful (not normally advised but needs must) - and check temps immediately once in BIOS. Last roll of the dice before baggage handling takes care of it...

Unless, you have spare TIM of course...

appreaciate the help lads, will strip everything down now and start again :)
Jeez, i would be 3 sheets to the wind by now - always drink when troubleshooting (nigh time anyway).

You sure? I didn't use the term 'Hail Mary' lightly...

...but i would do it, just because i'm a stubborn so, and so...

If your eyes are double vision free and your hands steady - go for it.
