This is a normal launch in terms of NDA/Pre-orders from what I've seen and all the launches I've seen.

But why launch products when you don’t have sufficient stock to fulfil demand?

I think the 3600x and 3700x will sell out first, wouldn't have thought many on here need the 12c CPU.

Most people posting on here seem to be after the 3900.

The smart option would be to wait for the 3950x as the chips will clearly be binned so you'll have the best PBO performance on that chip.

well by the time the 16 core hits i'll end up buying that as well, plenty of time to save up

OCUK had next to no Bulldozer CPU's when they launched.

AMD's previous Ryzen launches have been some of the best I've seen CPU launch wise.

yeah but its mostly enthusiasts on here, the 8 and 6 core chips will sell in way bigger numbers no question. The vast majority of people have lower budgets and dont need 12+ cores.

Yeah the CPU's seem alright, access to boards is the issue I guess. I had to cancel my taichi order on the first Gen ryzen because of the lack of boards. Ended up with a basic gigbyte b350 which wasn't great

A worldwide launch has to be planned months in advance but if they don't hit the predicted manufacturing targets = paper launch.

I'd wait until reviews.
But OC versus OC I'd expect that to be the case.
I just can't see AMD getting the core for core performance boost they need to make up for the clock speed deficit.

But a 3900X with its 12C will kill a 9900K when you can utilise those cores/threads.
