Got a 3600x arriving who knows when. Am I the only one who went for one of these seeing as I don't need more than six cores?
It'll be going in my B450 tomahawk that I updated the bios in yesterday

Went for a 3600 on the basis that I could put more of the money towards a GPU. Went for a janky looking Asus TUF X570.

I have the non x on the way, replacing a 2400G, should be a good upgrade being 8700 performance and all for £190.

I went for the 3800x, reasons are - I didnt want to have a x570 motherboard that costs more than the cpu... thats just stupid. and i wanted to future proof a little with the extra cores as i most likely wont be changing for the next 4+ years. which is why i didnt get the older gen motherboard since i want the PCIE 4 for next gen graphics. I still have not bought a gfx card to replace my old Gigabyte 7970 and i cant see me doing so either any time soon as theirs no games this year for pc that take my fancy so will most likely see what 2020 has to offer with the next navi card's

Moving from a i5 3570k 8gb ram and a 128gb 10krpm raptor drive.

Whats driven me to upgrade is the fact my pc struggles with transcoding with plex and 4k video playback which is mostly all i use my pc for these days but would like to get back into pc gaming.

What board did you go for? I'm thinking of also going for a 3800x but haven't decided on the board or memory (or even cooler) yet.

Been trying out the 3600 today.

Under Intel Burn Test at stock the boost is a solid 4.05ghz. In my experience this is the worst load a CPU can get.
