Not a clue mate, do you mean physically or specs?
Went for a 3600 on the basis that I could put more of the money towards a GPU. Went for a janky looking Asus TUF X570.
3900x 4.4 1.375vcore on my old X370 Board.
I have the non x on the way, replacing a 2400G, should be a good upgrade being 8700 performance and all for £190.
Is there going to be a 3700 non x? Seems weird there is the X but no X
I went for the 3800x, reasons are - I didnt want to have a x570 motherboard that costs more than the cpu... thats just stupid. and i wanted to future proof a little with the extra cores as i most likely wont be changing for the next 4+ years. which is why i didnt get the older gen motherboard since i want the PCIE 4 for next gen graphics. I still have not bought a gfx card to replace my old Gigabyte 7970 and i cant see me doing so either any time soon as theirs no games this year for pc that take my fancy so will most likely see what 2020 has to offer with the next navi card's
Moving from a i5 3570k 8gb ram and a 128gb 10krpm raptor drive.
Whats driven me to upgrade is the fact my pc struggles with transcoding with plex and 4k video playback which is mostly all i use my pc for these days but would like to get back into pc gaming.
What board did you go for? I'm thinking of also going for a 3800x but haven't decided on the board or memory (or even cooler) yet.
I found it in the manual. It has 128Mb. Same amt as on the B350F Strix.
I've gone from
16gb DDR3 Hyper X 2133
MSI Z97S Krait Sli
B450 MSI Gaming Pro Carbon
16 GB G skill Rgb 3466mhz C16
Will build shortly.
Also swapped my 1700 in my cad rig for a 2700X on ebay I got for £180. Not bad.
Whoa, steady lad you run fast (pun intended)
R15 3249 is over the 2950X, 9920X, 9820X, 9960X, EPYC 7401, even the Intel Xeon Gold 6154..... the 18c 36 thread CPU.
(and before someone asks for proof)
I don’t suppose you took note of the batch before installing the did you?
Where would I find that so I can look for it on mine? On the CPU itself?
On the chips heat spreader.
Still lower than my 9700K using the latest(20) C Bench
But it's true right. No point spending another £100 on a 12/24 thread CPU. Just a waste of cash from a pure gaming perspective.
Been trying out the 3600 today.
Under Intel Burn Test at stock the boost is a solid 4.05ghz. In my experience this is the worst load a CPU can get.
So is that overclocked or at stock and using PBO/PB2 (whatever it’s called today lol)?
Impressive - my 2950x only gets 3500 with PBO on - really looking forward to TR3 now
R15 and R20 results are not comparable (I get 3500 on R15 and 7800 on R20).
Separate names with a comma.
