9700K or 3700X

XTeFvBH.png

For those interested, this are the results of my testing today.
9700k, 1070ti 32 Gb RAM 3200Mhz.
Detail levels are maxed out.
CPU was around 60-70% usage, while the GPU was maxed out at 100% constantly.

I need to point out that i encountered issues displaying fps and logging the performance with battlefield v once I switched to directx12: For some reason, it does not register the fps when using dx12.
TslGame is PUBG.
2k 144hz

I need that 2070 super ASAP.

Nice frames ! Just wait for 2070 Super !

Overclocked of enabled MCE for 4.9gjz all cores ?

Also have Intel's own auto overclocked now
I didn't OC the CPU because I'm still keeping an eye on the temps. At first they seemed kinda high, but they seem to be normal, specially on this hot days.
Might auto-oc down the road :)

It's NZXT's CAM: https://www.nzxt.com/camapp

I didn't know about it until yesterday. Up until now, I was using msi afterburner or rainmeter to track the machine's performance.
CAM has both a desktop app to both real-time report the performance and track your fps (as shown on the image) and also an overlay so you can see relevant info while playing. Pretty nice.

yea its pretty sweet by the looks of it, easy way to monitor avg fps

As always, forgetting to add a CPU cooler for Intel system

you think OP is running 3770k at 4,7ghz with a stock cooler..... ???

£30 decent cooler can handle 9700k at stock

3600hz and 3200hz ram will now see an increase at vendor level of 5-7% increasing ram pricing soon enough - added ontop resellers also cashing on on ryzen trend. Thread ripper and Intel high end will be upon us soon enough which will further push ram pricing .
if your a user that doesn't want to overclock ryzen or intel manually or flash b450 bios then ryzen starts to add up a little .

either way- both great platforms

When I was considering going intel or amd, I noticed that x570 mobos, even though not very useful right now, added up some extra bucks when purchasing.
On top of that, at least here in spain, RAM price over 3200 is stupidly expensive. Like you could go from 3200 to 3600 and have 2x the price.
Over 3600 Mhz costs a fortune.
If you add everything up, both intel and amd have very similar prices, once you try to optimise AMD with better memory.

I'm water-cooled no worries on that end, been running @4.7 without issue since 2013. My upgrades are slowly starting to land, have to admit I'm excited.

if finding Micron E and samsung B-die that can clock higher with lower CL timings helps ! as well as doing the leg work!

corsair sold out in Spain's Prime day sales ... a LOT of ram kit went !

at least the euro is high against the dollar. Pound is shocking and all hardware is bought in $$

I'm looking at a set of Ballistix Sport 3200 CL16 2x8gb kit on front of me right now selling in Spain for just €92 , I have seen tests done where there is very little difference between 3200 and 3600 on the new zen chips, I think it was hardware unboxed not sure. Unless you're a mini maxer or intend on using an apu 3200 should be just fine imo

plays a bit more of a roll with ryzen 3900 and 3050x as both have two CCX dies that need to communicate etc

They announced the new zen platform as really ram speed bound, but I think in the end no one needs to go over 3200Mhz...
