The England Cricket Thread

The wicket looked green and the conditions must be heavy, I'm pretty sure this a poor indicator of anything TBH.

That said it's not such a poor indicator that England's batting can't be said to have been well under par.

I liked the point someone made yesterday on Sky, we need openers, that's the key.

If you get openers, Root at 3, Roy at 4 and then a bloody long tail we might change test cricket the way we did 50 over cricket. It's a massive IF though.

Thank goodness we're thrashing the Irish.

Now perhaps the trash talk tweets will disappear.

A good win but doesn't paper over the cracks of a woeful two days from the top order, especially since the nightwatchman top scores with 92 having averaged 4 all season at FC level.

Will be an interesting Ashes series that is going to be one for the bowlers I reckon; conditions like today are perfect for us.

That and the fact he will only play based on conditions that suit him; 5 tests in 7 odd weeks means it's likely there's going to be some rotation between the lot of them bar Anderson who will inevitably play all five.

Alarm set for my 6am train to Brum, excited now!

Good toss to lose. England should have a good morning bowling in these conditions. 4 down by lunch would be nice. 6 would be better.
