Depending on your case, there could be clearance issues with larger PSUs, although not normally a problem for ATX cases.Ok so these 2 units would be a wise upgrade, any compatibility issues I’d run into?

If you're new to modular PSUs, also note that the cable pinouts can be different from PSU to PSU. So never swap cables with other modular PSUs unless you're certain the pinouts are identical. Not a problem for you at the moment because your current PSU isn't modular, so it's just for future reference.
Personally, for that price I'd have gone with the Seasonic based one with 12 year warranty.
Depends on the space your PC case has. Most ATX cases should be able to fit the larger ATX PSUs without any issue though.Would I have any issues buying a new psu and just fitting as it is?
Also does anyone have any ideas with this windows explorer spike. Would that be possible to be related to the psu or will that issue persists?
It seems very specific that windows explorer cpu usage goes from 0 to about 30%.
After a fresh reinstall and also, if I close windows explorer as a process, the problem goes away haha.
Ok so an update. I’ve actually gone and replaced that psu and felt how cheap and tacky that old unit is haha.
I’ve also gone and disabled the search from within services so I’ll prob be on over the weekend to test it out.
Haven’t managed to get on at all in the last few days hence the delayed response. Thanks for the suggestions still coming in.
Oh yea sorry a bit late here but it was definitely worth changing that PSU, never cheap out on a PSU it really isn't the place to save money on a build.
As for the stutter I'm not sure. Have you got drivers for your SSD installed?
I'm wondering if it's the GPU at all or something clogging it up.

which psu did you end up going for in the end?
regarding the clogging up, i very much doubt the cpu will be at fault a 9700k will be excellent paring with any high end gpu out at the moment, only other thing that pops into my head would be memory, has @Joshuk enabled xmp within the bios, if not would be a good idea to do so.
Ssd drivers on the other hand windows should sort all that out via updates unless you have a samsung drive, if you have a samsung drive its worth downloading samsung magician to check firmware versions and if outdated update the drive(s) via that tool
Edit: just looked online at the gigabyte ssd you have, it also has a ssd tool like samsung's, heres the link, worth downloading and checking the firmware version, update as nessesary

@Joshuk you mentioned that the ssd software just sits there and loads, the process for updating is very simple and quick, very odd its getting stuck.
are you able to find out which bios verison you are using?, is you board the z390 UD(rev 1.0)? looking online and for 9th gen support you should be on bios verion F7 or higher.
plus how hot is your m.2 getting and does it have any kind of heatsink or airflow over it?, not keeping it cool enough will casue throttling which inturn will casue your pc to act weirdly, low fps in games and gerneral slow behavoir in windows.
if your psu has been swapped thats not the problem anymore, plus enabling xmp wouldn't casue the problem as you've disabled and tested and geting the same thing happen.
have a look at what bios verion you have and make sure it's F7 or higher (is you board the z390 UD(rev 1.0?)), then check ssd temps and keep it cool and see if the issue goes away.
before you go ahead and update your bios plase make sure you have the correct motherboard and bios first, DONT flash a bios from another board as you will either brick your current board or casue critical damage to your board.
have a look and let me know, if the above is all ok and bios is updated and you m.2 is cool then it wouldn't hurt contacting the gigabyte rep here @GIGA-Man to see if they can help
Yeah i've visually checked they're working fine and gpu temps are remaining fairly low. Can also get fairly loud so I know when they're working hard but it's not normally the case with this fault.I'm late to the party but are you sure that the fans on your GPU are working? My Maxwell Titan failed that way.
