Anyone have any experience with the likes of the below:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NIGHTEYE...:S60+I&hash=item23b82c4343:g:rakAAOSwLppdSSkx

Basically I am aware you can get ones that require more involved wiring which I can't be bothered with, although I am sure its not too difficult.

The above linked just plug into the usual 2 prong system that any regular headlight bulb would use (on my car). I am not necessarily after brightness, it actually annoys me when other drivers have stupid bright bulbs especially higher up SUV type cars, but more for longegivity over the "regular" filiment bulbs. In my experiance, certainly with all my domestic light bulbs in the house, they last a lot longer, in fact, since I replaced pretty much every single bulb in the house with LED's, probably well over 5 years ago now I think I have had one fail.

My car is a Volvo S60 if anyone knows any good ones that'll fit feel free to link an alternative.

Can't see those being anywhere near bright enough to be safe.

The "proper kits" have massive heatsinks and external regulator boxes and even then i think the light performance is poor vs going for gas discharge.

Traditional headlight bulbs last for so long that it isn’t an issue. I’ve changed no more than half a dozen car bulbs in 30 years, and they’ve mainly been indicator or brake.

We had a Focus for 14 years that never needed a new bulb.

I got these https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32949254200.html
for my cornering lights and they are brighter than the H8 halogen originals.
I'm not sure how they would fare replacing main halogen headlights as I have bixenon, otherwise I would try them as it's no so expensive to risk.
The ones in the OP link say they are 750lm (lumens) which is about 1/3 of the standard bulb's light output, not to mention the possibility of a terrible beam pattern.
This would be my fear with any LED bulb replacing halogen - I think we will get there in a couple of years though.

Got these as main beams in one of my older cars, the light output is phenomenal.

not sure about these
i use H7 bulbs (dipped) and i cant see these fitting in my car ? (Focus) what car have you got ?

i normally buy these :

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00NMEEV9W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

tempted to get the higher rated ones, but damn expensive

i cant wait to change cars, i want to go back to HIDs as i had Xenons before

I have them in an old Astra. They fit just fine.

I have adaptive xenons in my A6, they are amazing! So I needed something better for the Astra, which indeed these are!

As dipped beam they're not really MOT compliant. As main beam they are fine. But if they give a good beam pattern you might get away with it for MOT, which anything with projector lenses are usually perfect.

I have these and they had a very good beam pattern which passed an MOT earlier this year. Perhaps not quite as bright as I’d like, but still very good and better than the halogens I had.

These are for dipped beams though, so for main beam/DRL you need different bulbs.

that's the same company as the other one linked above (ebay link)
those 2 companies have merged (see ebay ad)
i just cant see them going in on my focus because of the wire?

Mine are in a fiesta :)

There were some bulbs I bought that had to be twisted in rather than a cable - can’t remember which ones they were. I’ll take a look

edit: that was for the H15s, which are used for DRL and full beam. Fiesta uses H7 for dipped beam, and I used the ones I listed which worked fine.

A site you could try is: https://autobeam.co.uk/

I got my main beams from there. They are mostly rebranded stuff you can find in Aliexpress for less, but they provide a UK warranty etc, so still worth it. 30% off atm too

as you can see, i cant see how these LED type ones would replace normal bulbs?
