How is 160 Hz 8 bpc mode working for you? Are there any new observations?
I've been using the monitor at 175Hz since day 1 but 160Hz with RGB 8bpc works just like 144Hz according to my testing. I think they didn't advertise the monitor as 160Hz native because the Gsync module needs overclocking to achieve that. Other than that it should be identical to using 144Hz.

That sounds quite positive. I think this is definitely gonna be my next monitor. I'm happy with my existing 38" monitors bar the refresh rate.

Because there will be issues and compromises to using it, and tangibly it offers no real benefit over 144Hz. If people NEED a super high refresh monitor, they will be using native 240Hz displays.

Because it will be running at 4:2:2 chroma and overshooting like hell with terrible black bleed trailing and will in affect be unusable but they can still claim its a 175Hz screen and that wikll be all that matters

I assumed the suggestion was that 175hz in general was just marketing.

I have a question about the LG 38GL950G-B monitor ...

Running negative 3840x1600 10-bit @144Hz can it do 4:4:4 ?

It's rumored to be only 10-bit 4:4:4 @120Hz ?

So can it be full out 10-bit 4:4:4 @144Hz .....if it is most likely my next monitor ..... If not I'll go with more expensive ROG SWIFT PG35VQ

Please info help

Nope. It can't do 10 bit RGB at 144Hz. Only at 120Hz but u could possibly do 130Hz with a custom resolution. Its DP1.4's max bandwidth.

Max Bandwidth ??

So how does the ROG SWIFT PG35VQ do 3440x1440 10-bit 4:4:4 @144Hz and using the same Display Port 1.4a

Does it have to do with Resolution?

Could I downgrade the resolution from 3840x1600 to 3440x1440 would that allow me to run 10-bit 4:4:4 @144Hz ?

How is the monitor, anything new to report? Are you sure that the monitor has a fan?
I love it, nothing new to add. It just sucks that Windows doesn't automatically switch to 10 bit when HDR is enabled at 120Hz.

Yup there is a fan and it's a bit audible if u have a silent PC and no sound in the background but it doesnt bother me personally and it's always running at the same speed.
