I thought those were supposed to be $1000? Did Intel have a change of heart? "Even at $1000 we still can't beat them so #### it!"

Its 400 more than I paid for mine.
Which is still to expensive don't ya think ?
I take it you was already on that platform/Socket ?
I literally cannot think what.it does have its uses over TR though
I literally cannot think what.
Unless you already have a X299 platform to just drop in an "upgrade", if you need brute force single-thread performance then buy a 9900KS. Hell, a 9700K and clock the **** off it.

^^ Yeah that's pretty much what my list was hehe. If you have a custom loop ready to go without requiring further investment, a 10980xe can work well. For the programms that like Intel which you mentioned (everything Adobe makes) - they run sweet on a 9900k, only need cascade lake x for lanes then.

YepIs someone gouging the crap out of these? Wasn't the 10980XE the $1000 part?
Yet again ocuk are the most expensive retailer, I’ve seen this £300 cheaper, it’s one of the reasons I order elsewhere now.Is someone gouging the crap out of these? Wasn't the 10980XE the $1000 part?
