So nothing to refute the current number being quoted by the WHO which Trump has decided is wrong on a hunch which was what the reporting was about?

He then just pulls a number out of his rear end, that he thinks sounds good because in his mind it's a bad thing so small numbers are good.

Let's be clear, he's downplaying everything because it's what he does, he lies, he'll quote another number tomorrow because he's also a senile idiot.

lol

Yea, lets look at those numbers..

"The World Health Organization had said last week that the mortality rate of COVID-19 can differ, ranging from 0.7% to up to 4%, depending on the quality of the health-care system where it’s treated"

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/03/who...-globally-higher-than-previously-thought.html

So your 3.4% is the average taking into account 3rd world countries that don't have good healthcare systems.

America has a good healthcare system, so the death rate will be far lower than the average.

:)

You're welcome

Apart from the fact he was specifically talking about the 3.4% average.

Honestly, do yourself a favour and just concede that he lied, again.

Yea, so America will have a lower than average death rate..

Do yourself a favour and read whats happening eh. Absolute outrage again over nonsense.

You and several other posters make yourselves look like complete extremists

Last chance, and then I'm out again, as always with you.

The WHO gave a current average mortality rate of 3.4%.

Trump specifically said that number was wrong, he did not claim any of your defences yet, which have so far been.

1) It'll get lower - it might, but that is completely irrelevant, he was correcting the current number.
2) It'll be better in America - it might be, but that is completely irrelevant, he was correcting the average number.

He simply made up a rate of 'less than 1%' to specifically correct the 3.4% current average based on nothing.

Just because you get outraged over nothing and don't read up on whats going?

The death rate is wrong, for America, he's talking about what the death rate will be in America, and it won't be 4% it seems, it'll be closer to the 0.7% figure the WHO have stated. And it probably will end up lower than 0.7%, which makes perfect sense.

Transmission is very high with Covid19, but it's not that lethal to people who don't have compromised immune systems it seems. 99% of people who catch it will recover fine.

America has a good healthcare system for those who are fortunate to be able to afford it, so the death rate will be far lower than the average for those who can afford healthcare.

:)

Corrected that for you.

Corrected that for you.

90% have healthcare, insurers have already said they are paying for it.
The remaining 10% who don't have healthcare will be sorted i imagine. Congress has just released $8b to help with the efforts, i can't imagine people who don't have healthcare will be left off.
It makes no sense to leave them out, Trump wants to stamp this thing out asap no doubt

It's obvious when he said the 3.4% death rate was wrong he meant that it's wrong in that it won't be 3.4% in America, people will try and spin anything

You're wrong, as I said before he specifically said the 3.4% was less than 1%.

Ignoring that, believe and spin it how you like, how do you view his advice to go to work with it? Against all medical advice?

Surely if you're managing the mortality rate, managing the spread of it would also be advisable?

I imagine they will sort it even if you don't have insurance. It's a potential pandemic, they arent going to take chances.
You have clearly never had to do anything with the Us healthcare system. The one that chases you up for over $10k the day after you get home with a new child because the insurance company wanted to chance it by refusing your claim. The one that stiffs you with a $40k bill because you were too unconscious to tell them that the hospital they’re taking you to is out of network.

I have precisely zero faith that they will “sort it” unless they’re going to make money out of it.

We're being asked to have faith in the man who has already made a litany of bad decisions dealing with this, has a history of trying to reduce health cover to save money and directly contradicts medical advice to sufferers.

Yeah, my faith is stretched more than my faith in 'God'....
