Well, I do have the Influenca

?

so my brain is a bit overheated but part from that, you still showing speculations.

Its not a speculation to say that the 3.4/3.74% figures are too high for the current actual mortality rate for the virus as we know a lot of people wont be included in the officially confirmed cases because they never reported to officials who were collecting the statistics.

This isn't speculations its a fact

This is the problem with Trump (well, one of them), because he constantly lies and is constantly wrong, any benefit of the doubt as to what he meant or his intention has long gone.

If he had been coherent and said, "The official number based on confirmed cases and deaths is 3.4%, but that may be over reporting due to the number of cases that don't get recorded. Unfortunately, at this time it's difficult to estimate or quantify that though. However, please continue to follow medical advice, while there's no need to panic, we need to ensure we take sensible precautions."

That would have been fine. Instead you get an incoherent ramble and made up numbers from someone who, if they told me the sun had risen, I'd have to look out the window to check.

Seriously ?? You don't know what Influenza is ?

Influenza, commonly known as "the flu", is an infectious disease caused by an influenza virus.[1] Symptoms can be mild to severe.[5] The most common symptoms include: high fever, runny nose, sore throat, muscle and joint pain, headache, coughing, and feeling tired.[1]

I just used that word because I consider Influenza a bit rougher on the body then the normal flu, at least for me. And it was more a jab at you since you used the words "stage IV terminal". In any case, we aiint talking about me here.

Its not a speculation to say that the 3.4% figure is too high for the current actual mortality rate for the virus as we know a lot of people wont be included in the officially confirmed cases because they never reported to officials who were collecting the statistics.

We already got over this several times. Since no one knows the actually amount of people that has contracted the virus, it is just your's, mine, the CMO or anyone else conclusion or opinion that the officially cases are higher then has been reported (which I already told you I agree that the number of contracted people are higher due to not everyone will go and check themself.). And that is speculations: A conclusion or opinion reached by such contemplation: These speculations are impossible to verify. So, since it can't be verified (confirmed as to accuracy or truth by acceptable evidence, action, etc.) it can not be a fact (= something that actually exists; reality; truth:), since it don't actually exists any statistics in reality, so it can't be the truth, or in this case, a fact, as you are claiming.

I see that @wesimmo put it all in better perspective above this post though. :)

I was rather more puzzled that you didn't bother to correct the obvious typo. But yes I do know where the 'flu' bit comes from

Is English not your first language? Are you actually a Swede?

We have also gone over, several times, that we can definitely know that the figure for actual infections is quite a lot higher than the confirmed figures currently recorded and that conversely the figures for deaths from the virus will be known with a much higher degree of certainty as they will almost certainly have been 'presented' to the authorities.

I don't think most of the whiners here would have taken a second to have a pop at the CMO for saying pretty much what Tump said (if in a more nuances fashion as might be expected from his role) but you see Trump and loose all your critical thinking almost instantly! This is TDS

That the problem with Trump. He has zero critical thinking and it's contagious if you watch him ;) I find it advisable now to avoid watching him at all costs.

Any way you want to spin this his handling of this and his remarks have been stupid. I mean his remarks are generally stupid but this is his first crisis and so far his marks aren't great. He should have handed this over to experts from day 1. Take it out of the political arena. Any question he gets asked refer the questioner to his appointed expert and say they have his full confidence. Instead he gives it to Pence who lets face it is a bible bashing fool who's answer to the HIV crisis was to object to free needle exchange and cut funding to the only place testing. Thought and prayers aren't going to do ****.

Did you mean "nuanced"?

Bit sloppy leaving a typo in a post where you have a dig at other people for their grammar and spelling.

Still glass houses and stone throwing is another trait of the man you seem to look up to.

Actually yes, English it is not my Mother Tongue, satisfied ? Not quiet sure what it has to do with this conversation though, since speculations and facts means the same thing in Swedish as in English.

Alright, show me evidence that "we can definitely know that the figure for actual infections is quite a lot higher than the confirmed figures currently recorded" ?? But since those figures are speculations, neither of us can.

Because we could just as well turn it around and say that the official reported amount of death cases are much higher, because there might be people that still has not been diagnosed with having died from this virus. We just don't know that, do we ?

I don't think most of the whiners here would have taken a second to have a pop at the CMO for saying pretty much what Tump said (if in a more nuances fashion as might be expected from his role) but you see Trump and loose all your critical thinking almost instantly!

Actually, if the CMO said that to me I would ask where his facts are about those numbers. He can make an educated estimate because of his training and experience, but it can not be qualified as a fact, just a speculation from his side. Although, most likely a very accurate one, since he is one of the experts in the medical field. But once again, it don't make it a fact.

This is TDS

And no, once again, I do not have TDS, I have the Influenza !

Fair point. Although Swede, I would say, managed to produce a far less coherent post immediately before my typo.

Its relevant to understanding what the official reports actually say and what other people have actually said, in English, especially when other people have sought to deliberately misconstrue Trump... who was talking about known under detection of infections by saying that some people infected with Coronavirus will have symptoms mild enough that they still go to work and not see a doctor with Trump recommending this as a course of action for those who suspect they may be infected!

Alright, show me evidence that "we can definitely know that the figure for actual infections is quite a lot higher than the confirmed figures currently recorded" ??

You had the link in my last post try reading it....
Figure 1: Spectrum of cases for 2019-nCoV, illustrating imputed sensitivity of surveillance in mainland China and in travellers arriving in other countries or territories from mainland China.
Finally, the bottom of the pyramid represents the likely largest population of those infected with either mild, non-specific symptoms or who are asymptomatic

with the figure showing a typical range of cases actually detected

Its demonstrable that the figures for confirmed infections of a flu type virus, where a lot of people will only have milder symptoms, will be much lower than the actual numbers for those infected whilst conversely the amount of deaths and hospitalisations linked to the virus will be known to a far higher degree of accuracy with few if any cases missed unlike the other scenario of those infected who don't die or require official medical intervention.

Therefore the percentage of deaths provided by use of these figures will be misleading if presented as if it was the percentage of people who would die, if infected, in the general populace.

The CMO provided valuable context, in his statements, about the 3.4% figure and why the press and public need to understand what it actually represents.

Which is not that circa 3.4 - 3.74% of people who contact the virus will die as a result based on what was known at the time.

I maintain that you would not be quibbling this if it wasn't for the fact that Trump made similar observations about the use of the 3.4% figure and that this is a result of you suffering under a collective form of mania that obstructs normal rational assessment of statements made by political figures.

No, I did not have the link when I was replying to your post, since you edited your post while I was writing my reply. As you can see since there is no link in my quoted replies from you.

But I will have a read through it and see what it says.

I'm calling him a man child on a computer nerd forum. And the thing is he is a man child. His public name calling is school yard stuff.

You called him an idiot, a man-child and accused him of being a bully in school (with no evidence). All whilst complaining about him calling people names!

You really can't see the difference between me calling him an idiot, man child and saying he was the type to bully (he is a bully) kids in the years bellow him in school (all of which I honestly believe he is) on a computer nerd forum and him doing it on a stage or to his millions of followers on twitter? Seriously?

You're doing exactly what you're complaining about him doin just to the audience you have available whilst he does it to the audience he has available.

I'm not the President of the United States mate. I don't go around calling everybody and anybody who says things I don't like names. I don't agree with you on this or lots of other posters on Trump but I don't call them names. I might question their sanity on occasion but I don't name call.

Oh look, nobody noticed your post.

It's very hypocritical of course but you just have to weather the storm.

It goes yet again to show the power of false smears and propaganda. It's really the most powerful thing of all. Look at how history could go this way or that based on lies. Literally nuclear wars could be started on rumours.

Maybe because you're the one being hypocritical?

That site is described as repeatedly falling for hoaxes, pushing CT's and outright lies, and is more of an opinion site than a news reporting one?

Odd how such astounding news that would make trump look good isn't even being reported by the Trump and Friends channel?

Ohh I did notices the post, and started reading the article. But when shortly into the article this was written:

Roger Stone tried to obtain information in his trial that the Mueller team had evidence that Russia gave the emails they hacked from the DNC to WikiLeaks but corrupt Obama Appointed DC judge, Amy Berman Jackson, wouldn’t let him bring this up in his case, even though his charges were based on the entire scam.

It told me that the article was rather biased in one direction. So had a look at Media Bias/Fact Check website and this told me all I needed.

Now, if there is some more information from sources that are Least Biased and does Factual Reporting/Very High fact checking, then I read it.
