I base my opinion of Trump on what I see and hear with my own eyes and ears i.e words out of his actual mouth. His daily briefs are a complete **** **** and full of propaganda with the occasional mention of the pandemic he's supposed to be fighting.

Oregon has had mail in ballot as the main way of voting since 1998. It is incredibly popular with the residents of both parties, 85% of Dems and 76% of Rep use this method. You can still vote at the polling station but only 19% use this. Voting numbers have jumped by 30% because its easier to vote. It also saves the State an estimates $3m a year in election years. There is no evidence of voter fraud.

The reason Trump and the GOP doesn't want voting by mail as it makes it far easier for people from low income backgrounds to vote. Voter suppression is a very real thing, which in a country that likes to brag its a leading democracy is a joke really. They should be doing everything to make it as easy as possible for EVERY citizen to vote.
 
You don't have to be 'liberal' or 'lefty' to despise Trump, he's way out on his own as a corrupt wannabe dictator. I see no possible reason to either like or support him in any way. Just what are you Trump supporters thinking??

I have read just about every post in the thread. I asked who you were referring to as "stupid person" when the post was about a video showing multiple stupid people. You took a video showing Fox News hosts minimizing Coronavirus by comparing it to Flu and made it about someone, who never even mentions flu, not making videos about flu. You then took my post where I asked you for clarification, ignored the questions in it and pulled one sentence out to make some smartass comment.

We have postal votes in the UK. Have done for ages. Do you think we have at least millions of falsified ballot papers sent in by non-citizens? Our population is about 1/5th of that of the USA, so if it would cause "tens of millions of ineligible votes from non-citizens" there it should be causing at least a few million here. What about ballot rigging? Does that happen here?

The USA has already hit almost 2000 deaths per day. You've got 4 choices:

1) Postal voting.
2) Voting over the internet. Which is far, far less secure and excludes some people eligible to vote.
3) Postpone the election. Not allowed in USA law.
4) Voting as usual, which will (a) get a lot more people killed and (b) greatly reduce the number of people voting and thus render the election even more unrepresentative.

As are the people with "TDS".

Of course, stopping using silly and deliberately polarising names for anyone who doesn't obey you would go some way to reducing the frankly ludicrous degree of polarisation. But where's the fun in that when WAR AGAINST THE UNBELIEVERS is the order of the day?
 
Thing is people on the right are complaining about postal votes but voting machines which have been shown time and again at DEF CON that they can be hacked are fine to be used in many Red and Purple states. Where is the outrage at those? In the end paper ballots are the the safest as there is a paper trail, each ballet can be checked.

It's the best option and most in keeping with how the GOP like to do it ;)

I was reading something last night about the queues at one of the polling stations and thought I'd read it wrong at first as it was apparently the one location in a town with 75k registered voters, then I remembered the way that every single election you've got people queuing for 4-12 hours in some places to vote, and the way there is a love by some of closing the voting locations that are nearer certain groups of people and realised that it probably wasn't a typo (I always have problems with the fact that the US likes to say it's a huge advocate of democracy, but at the same time loves to make it as hard as possible for people to actually vote).

I've been ignoring this pointless drivel of partisan politics, so I encountered both bits of nastiness at the same time a couple of weeks ago. But I am well aware that people have been ranting and raving about Trump since the day he entered politics, regardless of how recently "TDF" was made up.

But hey, carry on with your HOLY WAR because THE UNBELIEVERS ARE THE EVIL ONES! I'm sure it's fun for you and why care about the harm caused?
