Live Stream of my Bird Box - Bluetits Nesting - Chicks Hatching Now

Think this will be next year's project
Thanks for the info
Love birds

In our new house have so many birds on feeders but not wilded up the garden yet as working on house.

Always loved birds so thanks for sharing!

We have blue ****, great ****, green finch, Jackdaw, chaffinch, house sparrow, long tailed **** (some times), odd Robin and 11 greedy gold finch.

Apologies for the sound right now. Sounds like an alien invasion. It's next door are mowing with an electric mower.

Found out how to show the external camera feed without using VLC as an overlay. So that's an improvement.

This is one inefficient bird.

Moss goes in......moss comes out  As I say I've read that they can continue this behaviour for around two weeks before establishing the nest.

Get on with it!

I saw you move the boxes on live stream! Dude you need the layout to be like this! Watch... I'll add an image here in a sec..

https://imgur.com/a/QuN5i6I (LIKE THIS)

Cam 01 (3/4 of the page)
Cam 02 (1/3 of the right side)
Cam 03 (1/3 of the right side)
Cam 04 - EXTERNAL (1/3 of the right side)

What software are you using to stream it is it OBS? I'm sure you can get already pre-made layouts for it.

Yeah I tried to do that to begin with actually. The problem is the aspect ratios just don't allow it. You can't get to see all of the cameras and fill all of the screen at the same time if you see what mean?

Camera one would have to be cropped square to fill that main space and you end up loosing too much.

The reason that some of camera one is behind the other feeds is just to allow it to have that height.

Not using OBS. would work for a while and then drop to a black screen. Googled it and other people are having the same issue. Using Xsplit at the moment.

If / When she settles on a nest box I will focus on the appropriate cameras but with all of them being visited at the moment I thought it was good to have them all up.

Might be slightly better now? But it's definitely not perfect. It's a compromise unfortunately.

Oh I see what you mean. Snap them all together and broadcast whatever the resulting resolution is.

At the moment I'm limited to 720 or 1080 at 16:9.

If this continues to be stable and she looks like sticking around to establish the nest then I was planning on getting the paid version which I think can do what you are suggesting.

Any Ideas on names yet?

We've been working with Scruffy because - well when you see her next to the male for direct comparison you'll understand :D

Open to suggestions though.

@mrbell1984 - Redirect is set up now thanks. Machine I moved it to yesterday was set to sleep - doh - restarted the stream and updated the URL. I've updated the post links as well and sent it to a few family members. Thanks for that.

Scruffy is cute!!

Wish I knew what you and Mrbell were on about regarding the camera setups etc, will definitely set something like this up next year.

Fantastic! Glad it’s all working for you and very easy to update the direct URL.

I am monitoring the url for any downtime that occurs push iOS push notifications + email so I’ll see any issues straight away.

I hope they nest I think they might have made their mind up they want all 3 boxes lol.

@Nazbit - Are you needing to stream to a cloud system that has recording? Was this a reason why you chose YouTube?

Would be awesome to see how much the 4 cams are using in terms of bandwidth push to YouTube.

Have you actually checked the YouTube Studio app for streaming?
