TR4 same socket, just pins moved around, aka what intel did with 6th/7th Gen to 8/9th for increased core count
Have a feeling Ryzen has evolved so much for them, they reached the limit of the sockets pretty quickly .
Looking at the VRM set up of b550, makes you wonder if b450 will hold up in the future . Increase on power delivery is huge !
Personally hoping for 5 core CCX units next time around, 5/10/15/20 cores CPUs

So, what makes the new sTRX4 socket incompatible with older Threadrippers despite sporting the same 4094 pin arrangement? AMD took to Reddit to explain this. Although the pins are the same, "the mapping of those pins to voltage or data will be different this time 'round"
