The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Now watching Kiddy Grade. Sci fi themed fan service with underage pantsu shots. Good times!

lol to non Anime/Manga fans this probably summarises most peoples views on the genre lol

Currently watching Spice and Wolf (Holo is a new best girl contender) and loving it. I'll run through the Manga afterwards. Also just picked up The God of High School after watching the Tower of God and im ready for 3 months of soul death that is Re:Zero

What did you think of Tower of God? I personally loved it but I don't see many people commenting on it, starting to think I might just have odd tastes nobody shares! lol

I watched the first episode of TGOH which I enjoyed, but I'm a tad wary as I've read the manga/web-serial and I know how nuts it gets.

TOG seems to be deeply polarising, I've read so many conflicting reviews, which is the main reason why I haven't tried it yet.

Finished Spice and Wolf and absolutely loved it so im now going to go over the Manga and LN's but my god this show was good and Holo is now going in the longterm archive of "Clearly best girls". Such a shame this never got a 3rd season and that they left the 2nd season with an ending which kinda closes it off but leaves so much open for another season.

One of us...One of us....;)

Spice and Wolf is one of my favourite anime series, and I would love to see their adventures continue in animated form, but it's been so long:(
The books are great and really push on with the story, which reminds me I need to see if there have been more of the "new parchment" books released since I last read them.

There is some spice and wolf VR stuff including one in production

I'm not sold on VR (mainly because of the cost of the headsets), but awesome to know they're still making stuff based on it :)

If anyone has the Zavvi "red carpet" membership the weathering with you 4k exclusive set is up for £45 inc discounts/red carpet code:) (my fingers may have slipped).

True the cost puts me off but.....

This show started well but went downhill pretty fast. If the writers had stuck to a classic formula (e.g. Dirty Pair, Pantsu no Pantsu, or even Nanako Kaitai Shinsho) I wouldn't have minded, but they tried to be too clever with the second season and only ended up making it dumber. Disappointing.

On the other hand, I can thoroughly recommend Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor and Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji: Hakairoku-hen.

I watched the Saga of Tanya the Evil over the last few days, really enjoyed it.

I love history things though, so it was a really good mix of alternate history with an interesting protagonist. Really liked the audio and visual work as well, really good world building.

Going to follow up with the movie though as I just learnt it exists :)

There a 4k Deluxe variant version of "Weathering with you" now on ATA for £49.99 the version that was on zavvi is now sold out.

Cheers!

I managed to get one of the original 4k versions (with the OST I think), as I was checking zavvi every 15 minutes until it came up:)

I've actually got Tanya in my "watch" pile at the moment, as I'm going to have a go at it after I finish Dragon Dentist tonight:)

I saw "watch" pile, it's really more a mountain at the moment:p

It's nice and short which suits me nicely, although I would like a 2nd season after watching it haha.

Having seen various ones over the years, I find I like good quality shorter ones more than ones with hundreds of episodes and fillers.

Going to hunt some more things to watch though whilst this lockdown carries on :D

I'm very much a short and sweet anime fan as well, in part because I don't have the patience to watch a long running story where half the episodes are filler, so I tend to like 12-36 episode series, although if the story arcs are reasonably tight with little filler I'm happy to watch 50+ episodes.
It doesn't bother me much if it's "slow paced" if there is a reason for it, Aria is one of my favourite anime and it's basically 3 girls learning to paddle canoes* ;) whilst having quiet adventures and learning about life, it's about the most sedate anime I've ever seen and is really relaxing to watch, especially when stressed (I want a UK BD release!!!).

Depending on what you like things like Spice and Wolf are good, although far too short as they basically covered the events of about 3 out of 20 of the light novels and left it very much open to continue (there are about 20 light novels in the main series, with a sequel series of light novels ongoing), Durururura is good and complicated, Baccano! is very good but you need to pay attention (I ended up getting to episode 4 then restarting from the begining), Panty and Stocking is just nuts and rude but so funny.

*ok, gondola's but they're just over sized canoes with delusions of grandeur :D (I'll be hiding in the boat shed if anyone from Venice comes calling;))

Binged Haikyuu!! Season 1-2, 1 dimensional characters but strangely easy and addictive to watch.

Fate: Zero. Not as good as Unlimited Blade Works.

Also watched the 100 episode of One Piece, it’s okay, but far too many fillers.

Cheers for the suggestions :)

I already had Baccano! on my list to check out, but the others weren't on my radar so I'll add them to it.

Just started watching Tordora, WTF is this? And why am I laughing so much? I absolutely love it so far (7eps in). It has no fighting, no heroes, no fan service, but it’s so good! Lol
