Its not the cost that would worry most. It's the potential shift in direction from efficiency and performance per watt to raw power.

I say potential because we won't know until it's released. But at the moment it's stacking up with a bespoke cable and higher power requirements.

i have the space too over 400mm but i have a sf 750w corsair unit, may opt for the 3080, that way i safe a ruck tonne of cash, and hopefully get a decent uplift from my 2080ti, fingers crossed

A lot of it is width as well. As some cases will suffer if the card is too close to the window for example. Especially if it vents heat mainly out the side like the ftw3 2080Ti. Found this out on my old lian-li dynamic as it was about 10mm off the glass.

One reason i went back to my trusty old 900D. Will fit anything.

However reference cards are usually base pcie size i.e level with the bracket. I will be suprised if it is as big width wise as the leaks suggest. A lot of server systems etc have this in mind and may not fit cards of that size so would be an odd route for nvidia to take in my opinion

Nobody knows anything much yet. The models they're going to release are still rumour and speculation, performance figures a load of guesswork.

Nvidia are going to make some sort of announcement a week on Monday (1st), and we'll get some better ideas then. But we won't really *know* anything until performance reviews start to hit a while after that.

I’m just after something that will steadily run FS2020 at 60fps, ultra detail at 1440p, over the entire world. No dips in cities.

Well, let's face it any one who knows about how PSUs work know it's not a good idea to pull more than 50% of the PSUs power (for efficiency heat and noise) but many would get away with a 650w on this if they had the connectors for it.

However. Do bear in mind that this is about the 3080. Not the 3090. That could be a whole different animal.

That's good news. I'm not really in the market for a 3090 anyway, but a 3080 most likely.

I've got a coolermaster cosmos s from around 10 years ago, it's a beast of a case and has a220mm? Side fan.

I may stick with it for another 10 years.

Yeah, I wouldn’t go that high end really but you’re right - it’s not a lot if you are in that market.

Hoping other cards aren’t that size. I’m good on PSU though.

I won't be getting a 3090, most likely the 3080.

But with the 3090, I would have 2mm space before it hits my res. In my 700D. But that's just my layout. The case itself could take a card 1km in length.
