If you’re getting a console it may as well be PS5 since the Xbox stuff is likely to be on PC too.
For sure it will be a PS5. Then eventually when price for performance improves on PC to a level I am happy I would upgrade.

But honeestly I am expecting prices to be better than most recon. Can't see the 3090 being £2000 like some think it will. Nor will the 3070 be £600 imo.

Big Dog Navi
Not sure why people comment off topic a lot here
No manners?

Navi 23 - 150W = 2080S +-10% perf.
Navi 22 - 225W = 2080Ti ~+15% perf.
Navi 21 - 275W = 2080Ti. ~+40% perf.
Have to ask as there are lot these style of posts in this thread, do you have a sauce or is it speculation on your behalf? :p

Does the XX70 every gen get upped in price by $200? That is getting too much if true. So a few gens from now we will be glad we can get a XX60 card for 550 or so...

Master race is slowly dying. Not sure how many people are willing to pay as much if not more than a brand new home console.

I know I know pc masterrace is better etc, but lets be realistic, back in the day some games were made for the pc and ported to consoles, now its the other way around resulting in crappy ports. I used to be all about 60fps all maxed out, and still can see the console games running worse of course vs pc, but do i want to fork 2000 or more to setup a pc vs 450 to play a game a bit better? I think i would just save the money, because a few years down the line there is upgrade time or new console...

Was hoping nv would be a bit more logical and see how their Turing didn't sell as much as they hoped for and put prices a bit more down to earth. We will find out i guess soon enough. I guess it would depend on what AMD will do this time around just hoping they will do for once a better release than the previous once because NV needs competition.

Timing is pretty bad if the prices keep getting jacked IMO - from what I've seen mindset is starting to shift from console to PC gaming partly I think due to the influence of streamers, etc. and/or people wanting to stream and a new generation for whom PC gaming is something new to discover - but if prices are pushed up it will start pushing the shift back towards consoles.

Well that is also partially due to Ryzen releases and people finally upgrading their pcs - i am one of them upgraded from a q9550 to an 3950x so 12 years upgrade path. Ok a bit extreme but a lot of people sitting on an intel 2600 didn't feel the need to upgrade apart from a gpu. Now with streaming and more multitasking opportunities more people upgraded.

But current gen consoles actually do really good in gaming. My gf cannot spot the difference between 30fps and 60fps unless I do a comparison. I usually have a current gen console if not at least 2, and up to some years ago my pc was my main gaming machine. A few years after ps4 came out my pc got used only for some Dota and perhaps a starcraft. I used the console a lot more than the pc possibly due to the exclusives and because nothing important popped up on pc.
I actually did have a vega 56 on my old q9550 pc but cpu couldn't take advantage of it but still was decent. Of course now the PC is a beast and games that release on both i get them on PC if there is an option and the port of the game is not crappy.

The point i am trying to make is that now consoles are up there quality wise, they have awesome exclusive games and are plug and play. Meanwhile PC costs a lot more to build one decent and gets ports of console games which are not up to their full potential which is a big shame - i was soo looking forward to buy again and replay Horizon zero Dawn but that aint happening now. It is a shame and I am annoyed because I like eye candy but also cannot justify stupid prices on something that devalues rapidly. My first car was cheaper than this potential 3070 RTX ...

I have hopes for AMD and big navi but this time I am skeptical because i got badly shot buying into the hype of the Vega 56 on release time with the double price. The gpu is awesome but it hurt a lot paying double what it was worth because of the mining craze and Raja's marketing campaign.

Ages back I benched my old Q9550 at 4GHz against my 4820K at 4GHz with my old 780GHz edition and there was like 30% or something difference in framerate (can't remember exactly now). It still held up pretty well with a good overclock and the right RAM.

All forms of gaming are growing, including PC gaming, worldwide.

The "master race" is not dying just because bleeding-edge graphics cards are getting pricey.
Are you serious? Look around you. What masses do you see buying:
Pcie 4.0 motherboard
CPU
850+ 80 plus gold/platinum psu
Ram, 32gb is becoming the new normal
$700 3rd tier video card
With the real inevitability of doing it again once ddr5 is released.

There are plenty intel pc gamers right now with 6000/7000/8000/9000/10000 series cpus that dont support pcie 4.0. Imo, are gutted by the fact intels chipset doesnt offer better for these new gpus nor better bandwidth for m.2, etc.

And you think they will ignore the rumored affordability of a next gen consoles that guarantee the games they want to play on keyboard and mouse for your beloved status quo? Wake up! That's not reality. Nor is it a reasonable bubble one would put themselves in.

If those prices are true it's going to force more console sales. Which forster a shrinkage in the PC gaming market.

With the uk going into recession again, you really think people are going to be rushing out to buy expensive pc parts?
