6GB, really? what is this 2011?

Do these memory amounts mean Nvidia is keeping there options open just in case AMD surprises them
So, in order to have some "skin in the game" to claim you have a pc that's on par or better then these next gen consoles a GPU purchase isnt enough alone.
-32GB says hi! Because, reasons..you get higher fps. However, if you've been paying attention 32GB is becoming the norm in gaming. It's only exacerbated with nextgen ported games (open world, rt, etc).
-Pcie 4.0 also says hi. Because isnt it what these next gen cards are designed for. Or do you still think pcie 3.0 is good enough because another pc platform is beyond your budget? hAmpering your new card is counterintuitive to your own purchase. Besides they hAmpere themselves already by the limited vram.
-850watt plat. 80plus psu or better also says hi. Having a GPU that can consume up to 400watts doesnt leave much to chance now does it? But you are risk taker keep your 650 watt PSU and post back your results in a day or two. If it worked well with your 2060 what could go wrong?
-$700 or so for a 3070. Ouch. You did all that upgrading for a bottom-tier next-gen card. Just to claim parity with console? Didn't you have a Turing card before? Oh you thought because it might be slightly faster it was worth it. But didn't realizing that you're only getting last gen performance while paying new gen pricing. Also, you didn't understand that you do need this new gen performance for this new gen of ported games.
No matter how much of a cheerleader you are I would at least wait to see what RTG offers. But I digress...![]()

Hardly outrageous these days, I have twice that in my machine, but why would you need it to keep up with a console that only has 16GB shared between GPU and CPU?
.
You have got a Zen 2 system at this point surely? Anyway, so far there's no benchmarks to say what the performance difference would be of having the new cards in PCIe 4 vs 3, we just have the news they support it.
Strange, I didn't realise the *70 was "bottom tier", must have imagined all those other cards in the range.

I'm guessing that's pure WCCF speculation, as AFAIK only the 10/24 GB cards have been confirmed.
I think a reasonable goal for big Navi will be to slot right above the 3080 for traditional gaming performance but be price competitive and price it lower than the 3080.
3090 will be on a different level.
I'm thinking the same thing. If the XBox Series X is anything to go by AMD could easily make a 3080< with a die under 400mm2 and under 250 Watts.
Nice and cheap.... #### chasing the 3090 even tho if rumours are true i think AMD could beat it people are just going to buy the Nvidia card anyway....

But you know if they don't take the performance crown they are not a brand worth considering even if the person in question was never going to buy the Halo product... Silly mentality really.
So many of you sound like you're getting your excuses in early.
"It doesn't matter that AMD did x,y,z this generation.. people weren't going to buy AMD cards anyhow. A plague on both your houses! /rips off shirt"
That explains why AMD have 0% market share and never sold a consumer GPU, ever. Its historically true.
That explains why AMD have 0% market share and never sold a consumer GPU, ever.
And certainly didn't have 30%+ market share a few years ago.
because AMD do not have a competing dGPU for laptops(is one possible reason).Even the 2900XT disaster generation had ATI above 30% IIRC! Plus a few years ago the whole AMD brand was tainted by the FX series. I don't know how RTG,with all the AMD Ryzen goodwill managed to sell even less GPUs.

They didn't get them out in time , and left a large hole filled by RTX supers which is mad, they missed loads of sales because of it.They do as Navi is efficient. However, most Ryzen laptops with a dGPU come with a Nvidia dGPU. It is ridiculous, they couldn't get the RX5700M,RX5600M and RX5500M into more Ryzen laptops.
