AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

Oh yes Nvidia know, they have seen the consoles, done the maths and they know, the 3090 has 25% more shaders, its not going to be any more, if that much faster than the 3080, Nvidia have pushed their £650 card right up against the flagship card. Because they know AMD could get close, so they got in first.

nvidia market share is growing not shrinking. Their main goal is to get 10xx owners to jump ship as many did not do so with Turing.

AMD’s importance to nvidia is being over valued here.

Well I cant be arsed waiting any longer. Im playing MSFS at POTATO FPS. I need and want a new GPU. Sorry AMD, but if you want my money show me something and give me a timeframe!

I dont think you will be going AMD this round..

I've only ever bought 2 Nvidia cards.
An Nvidia 9600GT when I first got into PC's which I upgraded to a 4870x2 asap, and a GTX 680 which I exchanged for a 7970 shortly after lol.

I've still got a 5700XT on finance, although I could just sell it and pay it off and get a years credit on the 3070 to then give to my partner when we move (Which is kind of what I'm gearing towards)

Didnt know that, but thought you had poor experience of the 5700. I cant see there being a bad option now tbh as even if AMD releases are meh.. your gonna be able to grab an nvidia alternative for way way cheaper than expected turing prices.

I've purchased 4 5700XT's total, 1 for my personal rig and 3 for friends and my brother.
Undoubtable all 4 had driver problems, but as it currently stands they're okay.

My plan is to wait for Navi2 / RDAN2 ... if AMD have something in line with the RTX 3070 or 3080 ill get that.

If not ill get a 2nd hand 2080ti and keep that until the next node change from AMD

I really would love to keep with AMD (I mainly use Linux so the open drivers are a big plus for me) and my Vega 64 has very much been a good stable GPU.

As always with HW there are 2 rules :

1. Wait for independent reviews
2. If possible hold out to see what the competition is like

I find it kinda sad and also sadly funny that people, myself included are looking at the 3070 and 3080, and tempted to buy day 1, without waiting for AMD... That is how far they have fallen.

I have a 5700xt and wasnt even going to upgrade but looking at the 3080 and upcoming games, and then at my 5700xt and i play at 3440x1440p i know i will need to get something more powerful.

The worst part is, well all know in the back of our minds that Jensen is laughing at us, as the minute we buy a 3080, AMD releases their new cards and Nvidia then drops a 3080ti for not a lot more cash... So we all either sell up and go again, or get buyers remorse and accept the unlubed loving.

I just wish AMD would do something meaningful in the gpu space for once and not only bring a good product to market but actually show us what is coming.

Actually thats not fair as my 5700xt has been brilliant, but its just not enough grunt for my resolution.

So for me personally its wait for AMD to show their hand and for the inevitable Nvidia TI response and buy at that point which ever suits my needs the most, generally driven by performance per £ spent

Nvidia are not daft enough to rest on their laurels.
