Get your thinking caps on boys.

Why did Nvidia release a 3070, 3080 and a 3090.

Because obviously whatever AMD has will slot in-between these cards. Then guess what happens?

Nvidia launch the 3070 Ti, and 3080 Ti and regain the top spot at all tiers.

Obviously AMD have something good cooking.

Waiting a few months might be worthwhile. Better AMD cards and the Ti variant of Nvidia's 3XXX series. (Rumoured to double the mem)

I mean obviously I'm not going to wait xD But it may be worth it.

If AMD can't compete on raw performance then I think they'll try and compensate with a looks good on paper over spec the amount of RAM tactic along with a decent games package bundled and try to take some wind out the Ti launch.

You want an official announcement within 2 months? or for it to be released within 2 months? Because i pretty confident that both will happen.

AMD needs to show its roadmap for NAVI release now. Along with a teaser. AMD has until 17th to show me/us that it can do that.

Show me that you can outperform 3070 with a timeframe of 2months. Otherwise 3080 or used 2080Ti here i come.

I've purchased 4 5700XT's total, 1 for my personal rig and 3 for friends and my brother.
Undoubtable all 4 had driver problems, but as it currently stands they're okay.

I think your on a win-win no matter as I cant see the AMD cards being terrible, even if +35% on 5700XT with all new features for less than £600 is tempting.

Unreasonable.

Lol.

Beating 3080 significantly, for less money, and a release date of 2 months time max.

I think Nvidia may have left the door open with vram. If AMD leak something as fast, or faster than the 3080, *with more vram*, I might be inclined to wait.

The 3080's 10gb vram isn't a deal-breaker for me as things sit now, but AMD could offer something that makes vram the deciding factor between the two brands.

They've already confirmed that NAVI will be out before consoles. Consoles are released early November. They also talked about a show of force so it is highly unlikely to be a paper launch.

I wasnt asked if it was reasonable. I was asked what would make me not buy a 3080. And thats what.
Basically as others said (and I'm starting to believe it), a lot of people here will buy nVidia no matter what AMD do.

Either because they don't care what AMD does, or they would prefer nVidia all things being equal. In fact, AMD would have to be a lot *better* than nVidia at a given price point for many people to give AMD a look.
