NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Folks why aren't there any benches been done on these cards? Some reviewers have these already no?

its all embargoed, no one is allowed to leak anything until nvidia let them, we dont even know if they have been given the drivers to test them yet. imagine having nvidia give you there new gpus before launch and you leak the results, you think nvidia is going to give you any gpus after that before relase date ? highly doubt it

That carries the risk of sellers offering up to buy older accounts just to come and spam. People could just sell if it's an account with a few posts. People wouldn't sell as easily if they had to spend time and build a reputation/history on the forums!

IIRC it used to be 250 posts and was raised to 1000 which tells you all you need to know.

The stringent rules on MM access are what makes it a safe place to trade.

I think people are mental selling there 2080tis for £400-£550 without waiting for proper reviews on the 3070,3080,3090.

I've seen reports of some going for around £300. At that price it's almost worth buying on to sell on when the 3070 turns out not be quite what it's cracked up to be and their value goes up again :D

Sorry if this has been mentioned, any ideas what stock levels are like yet, my GPU died recently, so would rather not miss out

its bit stupid but
its noise difference
read it from right to left at any one time the 3080 is 20db quieter

You are looking at it wrong. It's hot at a low fan speed (low noise) as you increase the speed (noise) the temperature comes down.
It's done this way at a fixed load to compare coolers.(as best as possible without putting them on the same gpu)

Thank you, now that i'm looking at in on my desktop rather than mobile it makes a lot more sense.

I assume they are HDD's though and not optane? ;)

I have optane on my laptop...that's all i got to say on that :D

But I do have 20TB on raid 0 and 4 X 1TB SSDs in my NAS..

Optane is only used as a cache. Same as my 4 X 1TB SSDs ;)

HDD's I only use for storage. Recently picked up two 12tb externals. For OS I use my optane and have 1tb nvme waiting in reserve if and when needed :D

Soon your setup will need to be upgraded to something like mine when RTX IO comes out and Cyberpunk 2077 gets updated ;)
