AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

And at what point exactly did you know it was FP+FP?
This just lends more credence to the numbers and speculation, not originating it.

"RDNA 2 is ****, RDNA 2 is ****, Big Navi will flop. Oh, XSX is FP+FP? Well why didn't you say so! Big Navi's gonna rock!" Is this how the narrative is going now?

Hell, take all of the numbers, speculation, consoles, wishful thinking and dismissal out of the equation and ask this one, simple question:

Why did the company who fleeced its customers out of £1,300+ for beta test hardware is now only charging £450 for the same performance for the very next generation?

Precisely, and this is perhaps the best 'evidence' we have of big Navi being something substantial. Fact is, NVIDIA will be well aware of what Radeon have up their sleeves, and they would absolutely not reduce prices to this extent without good reason.

I am not an AMD fanboy, nor an NVIDIA one. I simply support the company in every generation that is offering the best price/performance. Throughtout my years, I have had probably equal amounts of NVIDIA and Radeon GPU's, and had few issues with either. And I will also say, that I have NEVER had an issue with Radeon drivers. I am rocking a 5700xt and have not had a single issue in the 7 months I have possesed it.

I have a gut feeling that big Navi will be something very powerful and should quite easily match or even surpass the 3080, at lower power draw, and lower price. To be frank, given the massive advances AMD have been making over the last three years, I would not put it past them to have something in the locker that could get close to a 3090. I am not for a second suggesting they will replicate their domiance over Intel, with Nvidia. But I would not bet against them making massive inroads this GPU generation. The figures of the XSX are there, and it doesn't take a genius to conclude that the same technology over a full sized GPU, would result in impressive performance.

My advice? Wait for big Navi. It might just surprise you and deliver

This talk suggesting AMD bundle CPUs with their gfx card is too niche in my view, as it will only appeal to people who are considering upgrading both components at the same time and it might not match their preferences anyway depending on how much weighting they want to put on the cpu or gpu. So a bit of a hassle from an SKU perspective.
A better option I would say is provide some sort of rebate option whereby if you buy an AMD GPU and CPU within x timeframe of each other (say 6 months) then you can claim some cashback (scaled dependent on hardware). I think that is much more flexible (and hence appealing), it would also maybe push people into accelerating purchases, if their cashback is approaching expiry due to FOMO. So for example you buy a Ryzen CPU and then you know you can get a cashback if you buy an AMD gfx card - this could have a fringe benefit of dissuading people from jumping on Nvidia 30x0 series until they see what AMD has to offer.

Well don't assign those comments to me, people just get carried away sometimes esp relating to AMD! Not like they've done much of note in the GPU space the last 5 years to gain any trust when it comes to getting anywhere near the top level! And it's all just speculation anyhow, let's hope its pretty damn strong!

I will counter that with the CPU. Prior to Ryzen, they hadn't done anything of 'note' either. FX series was a diasater. At the end of the day, just because a company has been 'behind' before, does not mean they will be again. And all innovation has to start somewhere.

They have the engineers, and they have the technology. Let's not forget that they have a clear node advantage over NVIDIA. I have every faith they will replicate there innovation with ryzen, into their gpus. They are a company on the up, very fast, and I certainly would not bet against them. This is not 2010.

Again, lets hope but also not get carried away. Hype has been one of AMD's big enemies in the past!

I always wondered. What is the original of that video. Wtf is that machine?

I hope if I get a 3080 FE it does not end up in a new video like that.

I think the NV stuff is going to be pretty much overclocked out of the box and Navi will have a lot more headroom.

Yeah, I get the feeling their won’t be much headroom either. I look forward to the review where they stick it under water to see how far it can go.

Yeah I just don't know how 2.2Ghz clock on Big Navi will translate into IPC and FPS.

I think they will have some problems managing the thermals on Big Navi 21, I guess this is what they are having to balance out atm along with whatever power limits are being set.

Arcturus clocks are what 1200Mhz by comparison, ok its not the same architecture but it illustrates the problem with larger die sizes

Overclockers dream
Can people just stop bringing that idiotic statement up every single time? It wasn't even an official AMD marketing line, it was an off-the-cuff statement made during a press conference.

If the mindshare against AMD is really this childish, perhaps AMD should bundle dummies and popsicles with their cards instead.
