His speech was quite monotonous and almost mumbling, many people do this when trying to read from a script for too long. Brain was fighting me to close the feed, just about managed the whole piece as it was interesting.

That and taking in the information as well, it's like trying to learn astrophysics from Microsoft Sam.

I have a gut feeling something will be announced this coming weekend. Would be the perfect time for it to spread before September 17th.

If they don't say anything prior to the 17th, it would be VERY foolish and I'd be shocked.

I can't see anything coming out in the press for another month yet with release in November.

Possibly, but sounds a bit too long to me. I reckon they'll launch Big Navi and Zen 3 in October. Probably towards the end of the month, close to the consoles.

I don't blame them for taking a little longer than NVIDIA. They're working on CPU's, Gpu's AND consoles after all. That's a heck of a workload. But, I just think it would be foolish to say absolutely nothing before the 17th. They may not have the finished article quite yet, but they 100% know the specs, and how it stacks up. There is absolutely nothing to be lost by just teasing the specs. Even if they just did that, and said even a month and not a specific date, such as October, that would be enough.

I am hopeless at waiting for new tech. It's the same every cpu and gpu launch. How people run the same rig for 5 years + is beyond me. I always have the itch to upgrade, and this wait is killing me :D

My monitor is crying out for more frames on RDR2 and Flight Sim 2020.

Maybe AMD know that the rumours about Ampere shortages are true, and reckon they just don't need to rush. :p
Plus if they paper launch a genuinely superior product people would just go buy Nvidia anyway if there's stock. So poor Samsung yields or not, I think AMD are building a decent stock level for a proper, tangible launch.

More likely the other way around - GPU production on 7nm TSMC is constrained so they are taking their time to build up supply.
People keep saying this, but there's never been any evidence to support it. The only constraint would be a business decision by AMD to prioritise Zen 3 production, but as I posted earlier, aren't Zen 2/3 and Big Navi on different nodes?

@five8five 8m 20s: he just said 180 Watt's board power minus the CPU, so including the GDDR6, that's pretty much what i said, 180 Watts with the GDDR6 and board components, remove all that, so GPU only, about 140 Watts, exactly what i said. :)
But you've been extrapolating your 140W figure..........as die only.........;)

AMD are producing more than just desktop CPU cores on TSMC 7nm.
