Nice to see there is still some love for the VII even though its officially gone now.

I only got one 2 months ago through a really great deal from a fellow forum member. That card has done nothing but impress me since owning it.

Tbh yes, I am hugely excited by all of the NV Vs. AMD stuff going on and really want them to take the fight to each (for our benefit) but I genuinely have no interest in upgrading until this struggles, which at 1440p it does with nothing I play.....well except FS2020 but that murders everything and me and my gammy eyes are happy as muck with 30-40fps at high-end settings tbh :D

Hey, I could have rose tinted glasses but I am happy so....

As a general purpose compute card it is underrated. I mean its an MI50 basically so it has some legs!

So according to my best-case scenario napkin maths, 40 RDNA 2 CUs at 225W is about 15% over the 2080 Ti. So...
  • A direct configuration replacement for the 5700 XT would be slap bang between the 3070 and the 3080. That lends credence to the 16GB 3070 Ti rumour.
  • A 60-64 CU model would go over the 3080 just about.
  • A top-end 72 CU model would have quite a nice clearance over the 3080.
  • The mythic unicorn 80 CU model would possibly get close enough to the 3090 to be noticed.
But like I said, best-case scenario.

Take it down one lvl and you are probably right my old china.
72CU close to 3080
60CU close to 3070
80 probably won't even happen.

That's not even close to as good as Nvidia were making out. Nvidia 2080 vs 3080 +80%, reality +50%, vs 2080TI +30%
Not clear from nvidia slides whether they were quoting the 2080 vanilla or super edition though so there could be an extra 10% in the 2080 results

My only concern is memory bandwidth. AMD will be using GDDR6,so I assume a 384 bit memory controller for a 60CU part, and HBM2 or a 512 bit memory controller for the 80CU part??

Although I wouldn't be surprised if the 60CU part is 56CU,ie,the XBox One Series X configuration.

Wasnt that just speculation from that twitter post? Have not seen anything official.

Besides, was posted on the 9th so its probably something for the 10th.

I reckon it referred to the Xbox pricing which just came out, not to a big navi/zen3 announcement. He just re-tweeted the MS post about Xbox..

I may have missed something but didn't know if was officially one???.....

There isn't. Pure speculation from an ambiguous tweet last night from AMD Head of Gaming. I'd thrown own the 9am PST timing as a hypothetical since that's normally when AMD does their official announcements
