Means nothing, if one product is closer to launch than the other you're obviously going to talk about that product first. They're not necessarily prioritising anything, just going in order of launches. For all we know they could launch on the same day like they did a while back.

I suppose. Having said that I probably need a CPU upgrade before a new GPU!

Nvidia are releasing 5 minute gameplay clips with performance metrics comparing their last gen flagship against 3080.

When companies announce announcements that are 7 weeks away, then yes we should be laughing at them.

Gameplay clips based on hand picked games, bear that in mind.

Its not even that tho..... Does this say anything at all?

May's well have put that on Twitter the hour after Nvidia 3XXX announcement.

i honestly think amd have been caught on the hop when it comes to gpu's probably thought they had another month or 3 and now its pure scramble to try and spread it out while staying in the news until they can have stock in place.

and yes amd have their own timeline to follow. which they probably are but they could at least put something out sooner than the end of october.

AMD's usual time line is too late, its so long to get the competitor GPU's out the competition are already talking up the next one.

Its almost as if: Nvidia Launches: AMD: oh good, now we can start tweeting teasers out for the next 4 moths...

The issue here is Vega was and is poor for gaming vs navi. The 5700XT is so much better at gaming than Vega. RDNA2 will be miles ahead of Vega

5700xt isn't even much of an upgrade over Vega 64, it's around 15-20% faster depending on the game. Was considering one a while back.

Agree & it is likely that's one of their better performing games & this is why it was picked.

But NDA's will be lifting next week, so we will find out them. Nvidia have again been far superior in messaging and generating hype for their product. I don't understand why AMD never learns from this.

People will always be more hyped for nvidia launches, it's just the way things are after amd had some very lean years where they were on the edge of bankruptcy.

In August we are told we will see an announcement from Nvidia in 3 weeks, world + dog goes crazy.

In September we are told we will see an announcement from AMD in 7 weeks, world + dog gets upset at it not being good enough.

Hmm...

Yeah.... its like "Hello, we, we, yeah we erm? we still have a twitter account. Remember us? AMD? that, yes that's our name"

It would have been for better then than now...

There's of course nuances here.
Firstly a difference in date by a factor of more than double from the company whom are the one's doing the chasing.
Secondly, by the time the 28th comes, Nvidia will have 3 SKU's out and reviewed.

Well they'll have them reviewed, whether or not it's actually possible to buy them is another thing.

I agree :p. I get the feeling that even if AMD said 3 weeks people would still be saying NOT GOOD ENOUGH! though.

Not true.
3 weeks puts it between the 3080 and the 3070 launch, that's far better timing logically.

It also allows AMD to actually see what the 3080 can do.

But the 28th means AMD will see what the 3070 can do, which does more to validate people saying they're not going to make a 3080 performance card.

Why are people so impatient. What games are coming out between now and end of October?

If you can't carry on using your pc for a couple months to play the same games you've always been playing then you really need to give your head a shake.

Maybe that is the reason then - see what Nvidia has to offer, and adjust pricing and tiers.

Let's just see how availability goes. Honestly I don't understand the NOW NOW NOW attitude. If AMD announces their cards and they are competitive then hooray for everyone, if they announce them and are not competitive then you get Ampere a month later than you would have.

What is the major problem?

They wants the shiny shiny.
