I don't know what you are referring to.

someone posted it in here, a amd 16 gig test bench graphics card with a cpu style heatsink on it. had a sticker on it stating 16 gigs ram and of course some people ran with it as solid proof. not realising or just totally ignoring they probably have a few different memory sized boards for testing what works best.

So they made a mistake ^^^^ ?

im sure this will upset many on here but it is a valid point made in the video about amd's radeon market muppets.

Lets hope AMD can improve their marketing and market position like they have in CPU's if only to stop giving people like this constant ammunition.

just waiting to see what carnage raja koduri can do at intel now are the total mess he made at amd.

as for a mistakes its getting in to the rx500 hype area again, yes we all want a strong amd but some of the posts are just getting silly.

Oh gawd.... yes, Steve is right and AMD still have work to do some of those tweets like the sun one was daft, but its not like Steve has not already bashed AMD to death for their marketing over and over again, maybe give them a bit more space than 2 daft but completely inconsequential tweets before jumping up and down on them for it for the 37'th time. You start to look far worse than the people you claim to call out.

Yeah for AMD GPU's I am done with him bashing them as we know they need to improve, he went all out on their drivers and got the engineers attention, that was great. Now need to dish out the criticism on the other side otherwise you will come across as biased, there is stuff there if you go and look, no company is perfect. Just watched MLID and already you can see there is no whiter than white.

i think the latest tweets triggered him as it was yet again an announcement for an announcement. which amd's done plenty of times before as well as other gaffs. as he says the 5700 is a solid card just the marketing dept is dire and has cost amd sales time and again.

if i was lisa su id be firing the entire dept or drafting contracts that state no twitter posting stupid hints.

OR replying to leaks and rumours on reddit lol oh dear....

He's one of these people who think's he knows everything and centres his channel around some sort of big brain techtuber, he never calls out his own idiotic crap tho and there is plenty of it, its a personality and not a likeable one.

Yeah it was stupid and it annoyed the #### out of me, that sun tweet built for too much hype for what it was about and that was annoying as hell.

That's where you just say "we an announcement coming, we will give you the dates in a day or so" that's it, why hype up what turned out to be an announcement for an announcement, that's literally a meme.

An announcement of an announcement so similar to nvidias 21days announcement of the announcement. That was followed up with a date for pre order without actual reliable performance numbers. But we will bash AMDs marketing based on history before they even get started this time. Great attempt to change the conversation.after all It's AMDs fault everyone will pre order Ampere without reviews :D

That is a good point, Nvidia did pretty much the same thing and got away with it. Because of course they did....

as i pointed out to someone else stating "but nvidia..." nvidia wasnt announcing AFTER amd had just shown off their new cards. if amd where first to show something no one would have been that bothered, but this hype building rubbish to just announce another date for an announcement is just idiotic. thats the issue for me.

Holy.. someone that gets it! Point this out time and time and blinkers ignore it. Its perfectly aligned to the "its AMDs fault nvidia charge so much, they dont compete" <nvidia release 3000 series> "gonna buy nvidia screw AMD"... or "thanks AMD for being competitive, I can now buy a cheaper nvidia card!" (basically were never going to buy AMD anyway).

The thing is AMD know they are an easy target for ridicule clickbait videos, they have people like Steve Burke sitting on their Twitter feeds hammering the F5 key waiting for something, anything to make a video out of, the thinking emoji and the Sun Rise tweet that he made a video out of are an example of this, for as annoying as the Sun Rise tweet was it really is nothing at all and Steve Burke made a whole ridicule video out of it, that is ridiculous in its self and i hope AMD tell him to stop being such a #### because he is.

Having said that AMD know all this and perhaps they should realize themselves not to give these people any ammunition for a while and just stick to being sober, plenty of communication yes but just straight up information.

Dont forget Jayz2cents, hes another one.

Oh.... that's a whole other kettle of fish, in the last few weeks or so i have realized that guy is flat out dreamy eyed besotted with Nvidia and he doesn't even realize it, Nvidia really are like a religion to him, some of the crap he says and does can only come from someone who is indoctrinated.

If AMD were not launching new CPUs then maybe. Consider the majority that will buy Nvidia anyway might also want a new CPU.

@Th0nt You just know Jay is scratching his head right now trying to figure out why his benchmark results don't live up to Nvidia's slides, there must be something wrong with him, he must be doing something wrong....

Yes, I too thought about this embargo extended till 16th but launch dates unchanged.. someone got those marketing slides wrong, now we are looking at obfuscation
I certainly think RTX 2080 +80% for the RTX 3080 is very selective absolute best case, this is where Nvidia's marketing department builds too much hype and not for the first time, the RTX 2000 series was also massively over hyped performance by Nvidia.

The 2080 ended up being little better than the 1080TI, remember that?
