Not that i was interested in the 3080, but somehow this 1 day gap (between review and launch) is starting to get a bit jittery

I don't know but saw another of his (amd Rep's) responses in the same thread, doesn't seem to give a flying frock about the community, might be on his way out, looking for a new job or something... brand loyalty is clearly for suckers

AMD has 100% confirmed that Big Navi is coming in 2020, with CEO Dr. Lisa Su herself confirming the news during a special CES 2020 edition of The Bring Up AMD show. Check her out saying it below:
In the video, Su says: "My main message to our fans is this is just a beginning for us in 2020. I've heard a little bit through Twitter and Reddit that people are wondering about, you know, Big Navi. I can say you gonna see Big Navi in 2020. There might be few people wondering about Zen 3 as well and I can tell you that Zen 3 is doing really well, we are excited about it. I look forward talking about that later in 2020".
Interestingly, Su refers to AMD's return to the enthusiast graphics card market with 'Big Navi'. It's not the first time that Su has talked about a new high-end Radeon GPU, with Su talking about a high-end Navi graphics card at CES 2020 and something I covered in more detail here.

He is pretending to be coy. But Nvidia doesn't tend to hype launches this much,and there seems to be more social media focus on AMD then Nvidia before the Ampere launch. It's all rather weird and reminds me of a period over 10 years ago. Usually right before a Nvidia launch there is little focus on what AMD is doing,as nobody usually cares. Something seems rather off about all of this.

It seems very hyped too. Nvidia tends to hype less than AMD does.

It's weirder when Nvidia is launching at least a month before AMD,so one has to question why it's needed to such a level. IIRC, Pascal wasn't as hyped.

He's got one of them awful accents that drones on too much like a lot of americans, seems like they need their nasal passages bored out. Not as bad as Gamer Meld though, that's toe curling bad.

Except that Steve just ripped intel a new one and laid into nvidia for turning launch and literally went way out of this way to show the card failures. The 5700xt was their product of the year and even in the video he mentions they didn’t suffer the driver issues that others say they have.


Truth is, amd’s Radeon group is mediocre. It’s not that nvidia is out of this world amazing they’re just lucky to have an incompetent competitor which makes them a de facto winner.

It's never interesting to see that AMD can make a 3rd or 4th tier product relative to Nvidia's product line.
We know they can make mid-range GPUs.

Now, give us a proper leak with a true-next-gen graphics that is Big Navi.

Thing is he's supposed to be an experienced computer guy? Doesn't take a smart person to realise when your won over by brands and narrative its best to ignore some people's 'opinions' as they are very distorted.

Yep the 1080Ti ended up being a cracking card in hindsight. Definitely a good card if you picked one up early and stuck with it.
