I want to see JayZ2Cents and Steve Burke have to change their CPU test rigs to a Sapphire RX 3900XT and their GPU test rigs to Ryzen 5900XT.

That would be so delicious and don't dismiss one of those coming to pass, I'm investing in Popcorn :D

Please stop with the childsih mentality that if someone does not like something they have to belong to certain stereotype. People can like/dislike things without having any love for either company, it says more about the ones throwing the accusations in most cases.

I have a policy of putting anyone making irrational fanboy posts directly onto my ignore list. The thread already looks much cleaner. :)

Steve just went through their GPU test overhaul in a video a couple of days ago. They're doing a 10700k @ 5.1ghz with ring oc'd, mem hand tuned (likely working with buildzoid on that), Asus 4x8 setup and HT off. In any game I and others have tested, HT off is the way to go for max gaming performance. Our group personally hasn't come across a scenario where a HT on was better when the system is fully tuned. Probably across 25 games or so .

GN tends to do an annual overhaul so I'm sure if the 4000 series exceed in gaming, he'll switch to it.

10% Ipc increase and a small clockspeed bump and the 4000s will certainly take the gaming crown. This is probably one of the main reasons the cpus are launching before big navi.
And if they are the fastest the reviewers ought to be switching straight away.

I did see that, for "PCIe 4 Testing" They all seem to be doing this, I still think its an Nvidia request.

Edit: he's doing a Ryzen test rig too.

Claim CPU Gaming crown - embargos on testing lifts betwen Oct 8th and 28th - show RDNA2 combined with Ryzen 4000 and the performance on the table.

Boom!

It's good they have a AMD rig for PCI-E 4.0 testing independently. I'm sure we will get a *ton* of Ampere content to the point nothing will be left undiscovered. A few in my group are getting 3080/3090 so I'll have some additional test points like having DR mem at 16/4500 vs SR at 16/4600 comparisons which could be interesting.

Exactly. They know the reviews are going to be excellent and have AMD as a winner in people's minds before the gpu release.

Wrong thread for this but Zen 3 will not be called Ryzen 4000, IMO, it will be Ryzen 5000, Ryzen 4000 is Zen 2 APU's

amazes me that in an AMD thread that there's so many nay sayers rofl, feels like welll why be in here if people are gonna whine, shouldn't this be more for those like me that are exccited at a new AMD card rather than spend all my time rubishing them. I personally don't rubbish nVidia although I'm not a fan of the company... those 3000 series look excellent if a little powr hungry but so many posts in here about previous AMD and how it'll be bad etc... surprising really and a shame... I think AMD are doing what they should do, just holding back, they worked ona different timeline to nVidia... if people thought any different then so be it.

There are of course naysayers in the Nvidia Ampere thread too... people have good and bad opinions about everything and as long as they can do it in a mature and rational way then it's fine and people just need to deal with it like grown adults.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Big Navi brings. :)

That Bloomberg article is interesting, it says cancelled 4 million for this fiscal year which ends September 31st for USA. Also it does mention that Sony have 11 chips made. It doesn't say the yield specifically, so i would imagine it's a lot higher than 50% to make 11 million chips in how many months?

Yup, yet we'll have people clicking the pre-order button at 2:01PM which is not really enough time to form an opinion based off of those benchmarks :D

Me too. I'm after a card which gets as close to 4K 120 as possible (my displays refresh rate).

Reviews Wednesday, purchase (or pre-order) Thursday. So at least 12 hours to digest the benchmarks and reviews. Not sure about reviews for AIBs though.

It is interesting as where are they stockpiling them if so many have been made over months. Nothing could be worse than short supply of a) PS5 consoles b) nvidia 3000 series c) RDNA2 series as it means the prices will jack up fast

Rich old dudes? LOL... if you think everyone over 14-24 (by far the biggest age range category of Fortnite) is 'rich' then you really do live under a rock. :D It is a fact however, that on average people of an older working age will have more disposable income to spend on expensive GPU's.

I believe he is referring to Jayztwocents / YT tech reviewers with the “rich, old dude” comment not anyone on the forum or people in general.
