Electric Scooters could soon be legal...

Well last night there were a couple of "youths" on scooters in the middle of the road side by side with no lights on at all. Saw later on Farcebook one of them got knocked off a few minutes later.

I’d definitely be wearing a helmet if I bought one of these, also I like the look of the ones with lights and seats, proper suspension etc

there are some that can go 60mph, bye bye mopeds? Or time for the e moped if that isn’t a thing already

However you will only be able to ride on private land.
There are eMopeds but you have to have licence plates and everything else.

If someone pulls out infront of you (happens often to bikers), you are dead even with a helmet on.

Not necessarily, I have a case of a biker doing 120mph, lost control and his only serious injury was losing his little finger. In fact over the last 10 years many cases where they survive at speed. Even cyclists going full speed into stationary vehicles.
I do have many inquest cases where they also died.

Crashing on a bike is different though. On a scooter you are going face first in every situation.

Bikes have also had quite a lot of money spent on improving safety, these scooters are basically scaled up kids toys.

Apparently Rihanna influencer, fell off hers ... hit her in the face.
edit: ok she's been in a movie I've seen - valerian

was looking for article I'd read basically saying the average potholed UK road will be an anathema for 8" scooter wheels, that is probably our trump card versus, Netherlands say ?

A bit gruesome, but, worldwide itemisation of escooters accidents No Time To Trial or Legalise E-Scooters in UK -> https://committees.parliament.uk/writtenevidence/6178/html/

Private land? I’ve seen them used in supermarkets too lol

long as you’re not been a tool they should be allowed anywhere

Yesterday was my World Record, no less than 7 people walked straight in front of me while I was cycling on the road.
I used to shout out "It's a good job I wasn't a car" but I can't be arsed now.
You don't pay any road tax on a bike so they are just as entitled as you to use the road.
