That's great, but if true then AMD are nowhere near starting production yet and are still finalising clocks (3080 has been in production for 6 weeks iirc). Maybe some cards end of Nov?
It would be the opposite if true. The batches they are testing will have come off the production line. I can't see them deciding final clocks on prototype parts.

Was thinking the same but realistically it's just a bios flash to set the clocks to the gpu's once they've finalised them, presumably they have some way of flashing a load of cards at once.

well lisa su did say before the consoles, so 9th of novembers as late as they can leave it really without releasing something.

So like NVIDIA they could release one card, and when I say one I meant literally one card, and they've covered that requirement. ;)

My 5700xt usually only stays around 1750mhz ( the game clock) if I don't manually increase the power limit. With +50%PL it will increase to over 1900mhz but will do 2050mhz if I set 2100mhz and with the increase in power.
They are probably testing the boost clocks of the big navi if I had to guess, but hopefully those clocks are what you get out the box with no increase in power limits required.

It's good to see AMD try something different, even if it's taken too long.

It wont have taken too long if they have some available when they announce. Its not like we have just witnessed an abomination where people are now waiting 6+ weeks after ordering..

The latest Digital Foundry video chatting with a guy from code masters showcased some quite impressive gameplay from a Series S. Sounds like they are pushing for good framerates on new consoles so i think rdna2 is looking quite capable.
