I guess just because I expect the reality to be that I am much further back... also with the low numbers in a delivery I expect it to be a few weeks away at best (sure, I get that others are worse off). Have a new build sat on my desk with a temporary gfx card in it that's so bad it has a VGA port on it!

Desperate people will pay anything to get the latest tech. It's just the way the world works unfortunately hence why there are scalpers because there is a market for them.
 
Someone signing up with their sole post to say they got one despite ordering hours after loads of people, without any pics or order details is about as reliable as it gets, so I’m sold personally

I ordered a TUF too, but at 17:07 (on 17th). Dreading the wait myself. I really hope we get ours before Cyberpunk 2077, but I somehow doubt that... :(

Exactly. I sold my 2080ti FE a couple of weeks before the announcement so I could get a good price and replace it almost directly with a 3080 - would have been a decent upgrade as I game at 4k 120hz but even though I am now without any GPU I sure as hell won't pay a penny more than the retail pricing. For what it's worth now I might as well try for a 3090 on Thursday :D

I was tempted to do the same, but but rumours of a 3080ti have made me think twice about a 3090.
