https://www.pcgamer.com/a-linux-update-may-have-let-slip-amd-big-navis-mammoth-core/

Details for two GPUs codenamed Sienna Cichlid (Navi 21, or Big Navi) and Navy Flounder (Navi 22 or 23) were revealed. Of most interest here is the fact that Big Navi does appear to confirm the rumours that it will be a 80 CU (Compute Unit) chip, while Navy Flounder appears to have 40 CUs. Multiply the top three numbers in the table to get the CU count. According to the document Big Navi will have a 256-bit memory bus, while Navy Flounder appears to have a 192-bit memory bus.

Doesnt DLSS exist to give helping compute power for raytracing? As the cards take such a hit without it?

Pub table discussion moment. If AMDs raytracing doesn't jeapoardise FPS in the same ways Nvidias does. Would DLSS even be needed?
Correct. Using higher resolution for ray tracing is costly therefore DLSS allows nvidia to lower the resolution of the image and upscale the lower resolution.
The problem is that they are doing that with regular rasterized games as well. As some, including myself, look at it as cheating.

We don't fully understand AMD's Patented idea for raytracing at the moment. From what I understood it raytraces "smartly" but in practice? We haven't seen it demonstrated in games yet. And that demo they showed us didn't tell us much. At a guess it's being used in next gen console games. But we need a tech demo to fully understand how it works.

I think scene complexity impacts ray tracing performance more than resolution.. there might be some shared resources.. could someone throw more light on this?

Crytek own rayvtracing is crap - the Crysis remaster barely has any ray tracing in it and the performance absolutely takes a pounding because it doesn't use any AI processing acceleration. I have no idea what Crytek is aiming for here, total waste of time.

Speaking of stacking cards - I wonder why console makers have not explored a way to stack consoles - ****, Id buy two PS5's if I got even 50% more performance - Console makers should look into if multiply gpu on the consoles are possible

Yeah, Crytek can **** right off with that ****show!

Really depends how fast it is. 499 sounds about right if it only slightly beats the 2080ti but if it's faster than a 3080 then that price needs to at least double

Well, I'm assuming big navi will beat 3080 so if it has more VRAM too then £499 seems almost a bargain although I still think its a lot for a gfx card but i will stretch for one.

Why would it double? A 3080 is under £800, if it edges it I dont think they would charge over a grand.
