Well i managed to get a zotac oin the basket, oc took payment. However yet again no card, i give up and am getting a refund, i thought this time they were not going to take money if out of stock.

****** off is an understatement

I’m not sure if OCUK is to blame here, but someone down the line, from manufacturing to distribution, has numbers that they aren’t willing to share. I have a strong feeling that NVIDIA / AIBs have forbidden them to share exact numbers, and they must play by the rules in order to stay a partner.

That would be fair enough, if they openly said they were prohibited from sharing numbers. People would (lol, really) likely stop asking and just go back to waiting, it's the blanket radio silence that's deafening!! I appear to be one of the luckier ones with a possible order #160ish on the Gigabyte Gaming, and seeing people getting other cards that were position 200+ is encouraging, I just don't enjoy the mushroom treatment. Even if they share "we have no deliveries today" updates, it would be better than nothing at all :(

I've followed the forums quite a bit recently, didn't see them say they're going to change anything to do with out of stock/pre-orders.

During the presentation, he had Twitch streamers trying out 8k gaming to show it was the first card that could do 8k gaming. That, to me, is saying if you want to game in 8k, this is the card you need.
Well cause You got no brain if thats what it told TO YOU :D Its not even playable at 8k as GN shown if ya looking at drops of fps to 11 :D

Perhaps because they are aware that there will be a lot of cancellations even among those who ordered 17-19th as many will either give up or simple cancel because they put multiple orders with many vendors
This is a strange assumption to make. They are still taking orders. They must have 4-5 million on their bank account for unfulfilled orders. Thats a lot of money. Just saying.

Preferably if everyone could cancel their 3080 ventus orders and order 3090s instead that would be great

I ordered the MSI 3080 ventus also and a 3090 EVGA from S**n. Ideally I need the 3090 because it would help enormously with my work, but I will keep whichever comes first and cancel the other.

makes me laugh too people getting all sweaty for the 20GB 3080, yeah like that's going to be £750 you gotta be kidding me try £1k
I know its obvious its 1000 pound card and 5 minutes after goes on sale its 1200 :D
People need to learn how technology works. If you are not exceeding Vram its ******* useless to have more. At lest if you got lets say 64gb of ram You can Ramdrive game and have instant load times. Been there done that years ago :D

He is . Look at the pinned update postat the top of the graphics card sub forum. He updates that to say what stock arrives.

Sorry, but this is a bit of BS.

It's simple math: "number of cards received on average per week / number of overall orders = lead time" I work in electronics manufacturing, we know EXACTLY what we can get out of the door each day/week/month and can accurately predict exactly when customers can receive goods based on the number of orders. It takes a set time to make ANY electronics item, this give you a daily output figure, Nvidia will know how many chips they can spit out. They've simply massively underestimated demand, and over-hyped the cards so there was a near bloodlust on launch, leaving us, the consumer, out of pocket.

I'm a patient guy, don;t get me wrong, but by now OcUk should be providing us with lead times. Burying their heads in teh sand is what is aggravating people.

Appreciate that but if global demand is a large as it sounds then like I say it will take time for everyone in the supply chain to ramp production, some may be having to switch production from other lines. I work in product/category management, currently at a large IT Distributor but previously have worked at Apple, Acer and Samsung. Graphics cards are a small part of the current massive demand for IT equipment, and with the announcement that people will probably be working from home for at least six months the already massive demand for PC's, laptops and printers has increased again. Some of the largest manufacturers/brands in the word are having issues giving ETA's and its been like this since March, I'm ordering products I expect in January now but I don't know what stock I'll be receiving in October that I ordered in June, current supply chains are really that screwed up due to high demand and COVID.

We get stock delivery update every day what comes in what gets booked in and sent out daily what more you want ?? Its not like OCUK only sells GPUS lol

Man I alone sent out over 500 laptops + 500 keyboards + 500 mouse to our staff that works from Home in last 2 weeks. Normally Parcelforce and HDL are collecting from my office but they are so overrun i had to drive them to main warehouse MYSELF as they dont have enough staff to provide service we had for 15 years

People living under rock Logistics is totally overrun man.

It was never a prospect that 8k games would be playable across the board without DLSS.
If you want to play on an 8k screen you have to accept the need to use DLSS.

I'm just gonna wait for @Gibbo to update the stock thread on 3080s. I don't really care which one I get as I'll be WC'ing (as long as there's a block that fits). Just the waiting

:p It looked to be running alright in the streamed footage. It's not until GN gave out his review, it shows it's not very good at it at all when you can see the numbers. It's not a card for me anyway, too expensive for a GPU to play games on. I'll just sit here patiently for my 3080

Then I'm taking a step back and have pinned that thread for updates. Looking at other sites, the 29th - 2nd October should hoefully see some good news and people getting some cards, everyone before me that gets one is one less competitor :)

Yeah, I guess that's a major issue too, thankfully my company and products seem (for now) to be fairly insular as demand is higher than ever, and we're taking people on all the time, possibly skewing my view on other manufacturing.

There are 17 original copies of the Magna Carta still in existence.

And at least one of them is very well protected thanks to us :)
