Lots of people discussing something they dont understand based of opinions from a YouTuber who has a vague understanding from reading a page from a very knowledgable guy who is reporting on stuff from people who know what they are doing

Power smoothing is a complicated are form. It’s all theory atm stop panicking.

Well EVGA just released an statement saying that the reason their line was delayed was due to the fact that using 6 SP-Caps would generate issues with the card and their first revision had 5 and the new ones have one 4.

Looking at the images of the Inno Ichill 4 it seems a strange capacitor arrangement on a small PCB might have been added:

It's also shown to be different on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5yOZKmNSqg

So who knows lol

Buildzoid aka Kermit the Frog says these are SPCAPS not POSCAPS yet EVGA in their own public statement says they switched from using 6 POSCAPS to 4.

So even EVGA calls them POSCAPS.

What a mess.

Clownfiesta, unsure if EVGA only called them that because everyone is and didn't want to correct it because then it causes more confusion?

They had to talk to an Engineer about it to get an answer for that, surely the Engineer didn't call them POSCAPS instead of SPCAPS.... right?

So assuming the rumored cause of the problems is correct, then us sitting in a queue is kind of a good thing in the end?

Entirely depends on your chosen partners strategy. It's good in respect that it's been highlighted as an issue and therfore you can make an informed decision. However, if the solution is to underclock the card to paper over the cracks, I'd be pretty unlikely to go with that option.

Just for some clarity here, my understanding is that this issue is caused by overclocking the GPU? I'm waiting on a Gigabyte Eagle and don't really plan on overclocking, would I be ok and less likely to have these crashing issues?

I'm guessing it's best to wait and see what happens over the next few weeks whilst we wait.

It would depend on how much they need to underclock by in my mind... from what I read the amount would only add up to 1-2fps in most cases

Not quite, it's a sort of factory overclock from an Nvidia tech called GPU Boost that allows the card to boost above the factory boost assuming it meets power/temp requirements. So even if you don't overclock manually, you could still run into it. But a slight underclock seems to solve it, so to me (who also doesn't overclock) it's not a huge deal

As long as it doesn't manifest in longer-term issues for the card that may be apparent over time. I would sooner go with the option that's closest to Nvidia's recommendation.

Some of the factory overclocks cause the issue, its not hard to underclock it and that will fix it. Its a bit rng whether or not you get one with an issue or not.

OCUK have the most enthusiast customers on the market. It's within board partners interests to get our customers their best hardware first.

We and they however will never divulge stock allocations so as to prevent any relationship fallout between us, the vendor or the vendor and other resellers.

So are you saying that other companies who are divulging stock information such as ETAs are going to cause a fallout with the vendors?

I just don't understand how another company can have estimated dates of delivery and can tell people roughly what amount of stock they might be getting in via a simple webpage that's updated daily but at OCUK we have to essentially beg on a forum for information and get told to be patient, as if we aren't paying customers and it's some kind of privilege to be shopping with OCUK and we should be grateful just to get any information from you guys.

I have shopped with you guys for years and this has been, imo, the worst customer service experience I have ever had, the lack of clear and concise information after taking money from the customer is just unprofessional imo.

I appreciate that you're trying to give updates now on the forum but it's still really not saying much, it's more about how great OCUK is rather than some solid information about stock.

So I have some blunt questions to ask, hopefully you can give me a straight answer.

1. When are we likely to get a queue calculator? (Are we still getting one?)

2. Can you give an ETA on stock delivery for every brand of card (like your competitors have) so customers know when you are likely to get more cards in for shipment?

3. Can you make this information easily accessible via a webpage link that is updated daily so we no longer have to ask and beg for information that frankly, we are entitled to as paying customers?

I appreciate your response to my post but these are things I feel people really want answers to, clear answers.

And you really think my mate they will reply to you?
Doubt it. Looks like we've places the orders and now we are left with no service at all.
Starting Monday I'm starting to call them every day asking how is my order doing and when I will have the card.
Many thanks

Still trying to get some info on the Zotac Amp Extreme, I've not heard anything about a release since my pre order.

Fingers crossed they didn't gimp it like the pov spec models.
