That is a image of the 3080 you can clearly see it doesn't have the sli connector. And yes some places have been updating there images.
As you can see the 3090 has the sli stuff that other image is 3080 and now has 2 MLC.

i’ve seen lots of videos on youtube where they have absolutely shown only 1 on the 3080. I wonder if they changed it from the press release cards.

Open up your case and shove a tape measure in there, my case says max assumes I got front case fans but probably different from manufacturer to manufacturer.
I made a cardboard cutout of asus TUF (the only version of the card I will see for a long time) and it did not fit. It coming on cage too much. I need a new case, is Coolermaster any good? Thanks.

They claim the problem only occurs when the GPU boosts over 2ghz, but it is now evident that is not the case, those gaming at 1080 / 1440p with no manual overclocks are having issues.

anyone else abit worried about theyre pre-order GPU... after seeing Jays2cents.... https://youtu.be/x6bUUEEe-X8 anyone else slightly worried??

I ordered a Gigabyte EAGLE OC 3080.... :-\ bad enough i have really bad anxiety, now i have this ***** to worry about aswell :-\

As already pointed out by other people, Gigabyte is using 470 microfarad bypass capacitors which are good supposedly (Zotac is using 330 ones) and I haven't seen that many people reporting crashing for their cards. Most of the reports come from people who have tried overclocking them. I'm also starting to doubt it's a capacitor issue since all cards seem to be crashing no matter what caps they have.

I have a Corsair Crystal 570x, and it is a brilliant case and very classy looking too. There is room in there for the 3080

I just built one yesterday, with a tuf, using a be quiet 900 rev2. Could probs fit a card 50% longer, the thing is gargantuan.
I like the case, though with so much possible customization also means building takes a bit longer. Main weakness i found are the screws and threads. Threads wear and cross a bit too easily for a case in this segment.

Got loads of room in my Lian-Li PC-O11D thankfully, and having my card mounted vertically means bigger is better!!

Interesting take. He seems to think it's due to lack of OC validation. He also shows that OC versions don't really improve performance too.

Yeah GPU Boost tech makes the difference between OC and non-OC pretty much non existent but if you take an OC and apply it on top of the GPU Boost thats where we could see the instability from though based on what EVGA said the capacitors on the back definitely contribute to part of the issue. I'm guessing the other part could just be silicon lottery which is why some people see instability on the TUFs though the only person I've seen mention it is Hardwareunboxed.

We got to wait for more to get out in the wild and see how many TUFs show instability then we know theres more issues than just the capacitors.

Basically try not to worry that much. All cards are seem to be having issues to some extent, but it seems like Gigabyte are fine, at least for now, if you don't overclock them and just run at stock settings.

But I'm pretty sure none of the manufacturers made any claims in their official marketing about their cards being able to overclock to 2Ghz.

MSI for the Gaming X Trio say the boost clock is 1815, anything above that using GPU Boost is a bonus, so going from 2Ghz GPU Boost to 1.95Ghz isn't misleading advertising or anything as you're paying for the advertised boost clock, not anything that GPU Boost can provide

I pointed it out earlier on multiple threads but i will say it again.

People were buying the cheaper cards thinking they were the same components and chip binning, it was quite clear that this was not going to be the case.

You have three tiers of 3080 chips and cards to choose from, if you buy a bottom tier binned card you really need to be running it at stock.

If cards are not operating properly at stock clocks, then that is clearly a manufacturing issue and its probably going back to the fact that these chips need to be binned much more tightly for voltage than previous generations.

This time around, its pretty clear you need to be buying a Stric OC or an upper tier EVGA 3080 card in order to get the overclocking experience you would be getting with a stock 2070 FE.

Amazing that Asus managed to produce a card with all MLC and a highly performant cooler for the £649 RRP. Just a shame that demand and favourable reviews have resulted in inexcusable retailer price gouging.

So glad I'm in the queue for this card, seems to be a bargain for £649, and people on there we're criticising it as a 'budget' card.

How can you see your position in queue? Sry I'm new to the forum.

They are using the unofficial queue calculator, which is created by a forum member, and uses data from a spreadsheet, that many of us submitted our orders to, to make a guess of where you might be in the queue.

Do be warned
  • It's completely unofficial, and is just a best guess based on your order number (which we now know doesn't always line up with your order time).
  • The numbers in the spreadsheet it uses seem to be overestimates by as much as 50% of actual sales (1800ish TUF non-OC sold according to customer service, 2700 estimated by the spreadsheet)
  • It assumes that only 30 series GPUs were ordered, which while ok for early orders, it'll be even further out for later ones
With all those warnings in mind you can see the links to it in this stickied thread. But just to be absolutely clear, IT IS A GUESS, and might be completely wrong. Overclockers have promised an official equivelent "soon".

1. When are we likely to get a queue calculator? (Are we still getting one?)

I was told that IT are working on one. When it will be ready I don't know.

2. Can you give an ETA on stock delivery for every brand of card (like your competitors have) so customers know when you are likely to get more cards in for shipment?

There are so many orders that not everyone will have their order satisfied from the first, second, third or even the 4th intake. Why let people know when the next stock is due when it doesn't affect the majority of those with pre-orders? It just gets peoples hopes up. Then we'll have to deal with the fallout when they don't get their card the day after we are ETA'd for shipment.

3. Can you make this information easily accessible via a webpage link that is updated daily so we no longer have to ask and beg for information that frankly, we are entitled to as paying customers?

You don't have to ask or beg, we'll email you as and when we have information available for you. Just sit tight and relax.
