Hi, long time listener, first time caller.

I ordered a new car, they've told me when roughly it'll arrive (3 months) and I've been kept updated all the way through, but that amounts to what, 3 calls? i pick it up Monday, I've been patient. I knew though. They told me. Get it?

I don't care when the 3080 arrives, 2070 is doing ok, just a rough guide for when "I" will receive what I've paid for, it's all I expect.

No more, no less.

Awesome thread though, it's kept me amused though. Love everyone's work, keep it up
Your car will have been allocated to your order before it was even manufactured by a single company responsible for all production. Not the same at all.

No, they limited the 3090 launch and maybe the orders from a certain date to the UK and Ireland
If they only get stock allocated for the UK as previously stated, then all UK orders should have been prioritised in the first place in my opinion

And I ordered on launch

Your initial criticism was that they are still taking pre-orders now and orders placed now are limited. Any orders placed now don't effect your order either. Criticism over allowing overseas orders placed at launch is a different issue. It's also been stated that a lot of US orders have been cancelled. I would agree though given the extreme shortage UK customers who purchased at launch should be prioritized given the allocations per region. There is a potential upside though. AIB's knowing how many cards have been pre-sold here (probably more than anywhere else) may up their shipments to clear the backlog meaning people who order at OC get their cards sooner than they otherwise would. Not saying it's going to happen but it's possible.

Can you please keep all the car talk to the appropriate forum. There is enough bloat on this thread....
We asked Mods to clear it up tomorrow. Thats why we putting it here. All we had whole day was people complaing about caps on cards they dont even own and dont know if thjey will have problem with their's card.

@OG Don Mecca MIST ?? Compare to BFA was epic Xpack not joking. BFA made me quit in 1 month after playing since vanilla.

And that'll come, people will need just a little bit of patience on that one. If one can't wait a week or two for that tool to come that can readily give you that information, how does one cope with waiting for possibly months for the GPU itself?

What issues are you talking about? You know they just going to be driver issues. They cards atm are just pushing way past there factory overclock which needs a hot fix if you will it's nothing massive to worry about imo.
I'm just saying in general dude like this whole 3080 stock situation, never getting updates, no official queue system. This card launch was terrible and as much as I love Nvidia feel like I should just spend less money and get a new motherboard and cpu for like 190 less that what I spent on an MSI card.

On the whole queue problem, here's the word of a developer, and I'm pretty sure some of you are too and will be able to agree.

Indeed. There are many ways a queue position system could be implemented in a matter of hours.

So it boils down to either:

a) Lack of will to implement one that quickly
b) Lack of talent to implement one that quickly (this is not a high bar)

If it's a) then there are some serious questions that need to be answered.

If its b) then whoever is CTO needs to be replaced with someone competent.

There are various references to Gibbos car in this thread. If he's done well, good luck to him I say, and I wish him all the best. That said, in business its not usually a good idea to show your customers how rich they're making you. Often a company owner will have his nice cars tucked away for personal use and turn up to meetings in an average car (for example). Otherwise you can be seen as crass. There's a saying, money talks, but wealth whispers.

trouble is the post isn’t exactly achieving anything so people have decided to pass their time on something more enjoyable whilst we wait. The thread says its about 3080 stock and pricing, and yet nobody has complained about all the chatter on 3080’s crashing ( should probably be a separate thread ) and the only thing we know about stock is that OC aint got none. That makes for a very short thread.

No idea if anyone’s heard this yet, but a US retailer are delivering 3080 cards without retail packaging, and they’re getting damaged. It seems like bulk orders are maybe outpacing retail box production? Lol. No idea, but sounds rushed. Heck, I’ll be happy with just a card. Keep the retail box. Just package it correctly, OCUK. Haha.

Agreed. With no updates as well from any third party manufacturers Is just terrible the fact that they don't know when there own cards are gonna begin to restock just shows how botched and rushed this launch was. Not to mention they started production In August...

they are taking them out of pre-built systems apparently, so not a box production issue, just a sign of how desperate people are to get their card and how badly the launch has been handled.
