your welcomeHaha thank you! Was trying to skim through pages and catch up but all I was seeing was a bunch of unrelated blah blah blah so thank you sir!!
So all the reviews and benchmarks from launch when we all ordered are on hand picked cards that we cant purchase.
Reviews are done against the earliest production cards yes, but in most cases these will be the same cards as those that hit the shelves. They are however also using early drivers, probably the biggest cause of any difference in performance.
Ultimately, maybe that 25% lead that you suggest is actually 24% or 23% if boost clocks are reduced in the drivers or firmware. Or you could end up getting a better card that happens to have good silicon, that does 26%. Or maybe optimisation future drivers will manage to bring it to 27%.
My point is: the differences are really going to be very small, not big enough to worry about. It hasn't suddenly lost £100 in value.
Well, I think it is a more of a support group about the 3080 than a thread about itI've muted all of them talking about cars. Pretty sure this is a topic about a gfx card.
Have you used that shoddy calculatorYeah that doesn't seem right, I got a 14:40 order in for an MSI card and haven't heard anything so I'm not sure 15:15 orders will be going out yet
unofficial que has me at 3rd.... lol :-\ so close yet so far!!Have you used that shoddy calculatorI ordered the msi gaming and I'm apperntly 1736 in the queue. It would be nice to get official numbers from staff.
Nothing new, the EVGA announcement was picked up here yesterday. However, all this POSCAP bad stuff misses out two important factors. 1 They're not POSCAPS they're SPCAPs 2 not all SPCAPs are created equal. There are better and worse models and according to some the SPCAPs EVGA were trying to use were cheapo nasties. Each of the brands seem to be using different rated capacitors with Palit for example using 220s and Giga using 470s. Not sure what difference this actually makes, because personally I still haven't seen any actual facts backing this theory up. I'm still convinced the problem is software related with an over aggressive boost to blame.
