I see people say they are 470 a and not the lower number ones, I have no idea what this means

Higher number is better vs the lower number for the pscap gigabyte use, different styles of components have different costs and materials and also its not 100% the root of the issue though they can contribute to the problem.

Tons of people trying to look into the problem which is cool but silicon quality is definitely factor, from the looks of it might be more what the gpu voltage is getting rather than what its boosting to. Someone who was crashing at 2025mhz boost saw the gpu voltage spike to 1.1v, when they locked it to 1.05v they maintained a 2050mhz boost,

The autentication to an SQL database is fundamentally just a username/password, you could imagine a sort of fantastical scenario where some other devs built the site and then new devs now have to come in and they don't have the creds and it's a nightmare to reset everything, but I just don't see this being the case for an active/live store like OCUK, I'm sure they either have in house guys or regular devs they speak to who can make these changes very fast. Authenticating against an SQL database is easy in code, most well setup websites will have a connection string already saved as a global variable which you can just use to create new connection requests so you may not even need to know the auth creds, just plug in the string in code and boom you'll connect.

I don't deny these sorts of weird unlikely problems are plausible but they don't seem likely for the importance of a web store to a business like OCUK, if they have regular devs who look at the site even a few times a year then they have a source of developers to do this kind of change very fast, unless they're being taken for a ride and don't know it. Given the revenue estimates made from preorders of these cards I'm sure it's something they can afford to do.
Sorry, I should have been clearer. What I mean is that at the moment we log into the web shop with OUR credentials (so the website credentials, not the SQL credentials). To add a queue page would mean that it would need to hook into whatever authentication API the webshop uses, and be written securely. If they don't have web developers (and honestly why should they need them on hand?) that are familiar with that webshop API it will be an uphill battle to make sure it's done securely. Most places generally buy an e-store/webshop product, pay a design team to make it look nice/on brand perhaps include any features they want/need.

Hence why I thought the one-off email, or even a daily/weekly email that is generated as you say based on a SQL script outside of the webshop might be the easier way.

Anyway all speculation (and that's always good too). We don't know what expertise they have on hand, or what they intend to do in this regard.

Ssssssh don't try to apply sensible pragmatic discussion points here that isn't allowed.

To be honest we see 41 in this picture, although there could be another stack out of picture on the right. According to Gibbos numbers, 50 is still in the small range

I'd rather see just 1, in my household than 2000 anywhere else!!! But it can't be right now, rather 41 than 0, right, at least we know 41 people are due soon, instead of 0

i like how we are getting zero updates from OCUK

FeelsGoodMan

That's because everyone seems to want an update every 30 min updates saying "there is no news" They are waiting for confirmed dates from distribution. Every time they get one they post it in the other thread. Don't like it cancel or just be patient, its been a week! Other OCuk people have been replying here at midnight to this thread and its Sunday.
Do you sit on your company message boards on your days of in case everyone had a question of "when is my card getting here" for the 400th time?!

Higher or lower number is just the Capacitors rating in uF, the value will depend on the rest of the circuitry involved, got nothing to do with how good or bad they are.

6 big fat cheap as chips 'poscaps" ( quotes cause they aren't poscaps technically)
470s are not CHEAP 220s and 330s are... People are stupid enough to judge parts by how they look instead of what they are when having NO CLUE about electronic parts...

Actually I do! I run my own business and I'm on it like gibbo's car bonnet!
I've just this second had a payment and I'm on it right now.

Think OCUK should have a forum bot answering NO NEWS in this topic every 30 seconds like good old IRC bots :D
