Calm down on the insult, prob unlike you I've not read all 430 pages of posts. I've made a few comments and read a few pages. I don't actually know whats goin on and talking to overclockers online chat to ask community, I got a link to this que thing. So instead of insulting me or other people just give me a straight ******* answer to what the latest is if any different from last week. I ordered a card early morrning on 23. And like everyone else want to know roughly when its getting here, ie this year??

Short answer no, no update. Like most competitors an official queue is not available because of the way shipments appear to be watered down to each store (scans faq almost seems like allocation is split by orders from customers).

Right now it doesn't matter where you order from, it's either sit and wait for a despatch notification or cancel and wait a few months for more stock. Either way you'll be waiting.

If you want official updates, bookmark gibbos posts , as well as the vendor account of the brand you've ordered, if available. Just note gibbo is a person with free time and these forums are not just for giving store updates, so he'll post about other things, like the rest of us.

There is no pleasing some people. Some people are having discussions about how easy it would be to code a queue calculator, other people are pcb design experts and others want daily updates. It came out on the 17th, it sold out and they have said many times they will give an update on a specific thread as soon as it’s available. I had an evga order but as they haven’t even officially released it I cancelled the order. I snagged a palit one anyway. Even if I didn’t have it, it would have just been a case of waiting. I waited 8 weeks for my 1080ti and it came as soon as it was in stock. Ordered a new keyboard from OC yesterday and it arrived this morning on a Sunday. Can’t complain at all.

You should order a 4080, 5090 and 6090ti just because.

Helpfull and respectful info thanks. I suspected as much, but thought I'd ask anyways. I've never brought a new gpu before. I build myself a new pc in January and only had a gtx780 windforce 3gb. So as you can imagine, I'm struggling with games abit. So it has a custom bios overclocked the nuts of off it and its getting me online playing games. Rest of my system is fine and ready for new gpu. Just spent up on pc build and left the gpu. So I'm really really wanting mine to turn up but as same time I've waited all year for 3080 already.

I'm glad the msi gaming have the same as the reference cards :)

Sadly they don't.. im in the same boat waiting for the trio. I may cancel my order (ordered at 14.05) Official statements are being received (evga just now) from board companies on the saga. All confirm less than two MLCC clusters are causing crashing to desktop on the boost.

"MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio shows five SPCAPS, one MLCC clusters (10)" I think this is what could be causing delays..as mentioned this config is confirmed as unstable at high boost and the card was produced with high OC.

The 3090 has two MLCC mounted centrally and may be ok.

I'm a bit gutted off im honest and am considering holding off for the 20g version with fixed caps

Any thoughts from other msi pre-orders??

This is what I saying, ya telling me there over 400 pages of b.s? So when I come along and ask for a update I get called stupid. Sorry for asking a community about whats been said over 400 pages.

How many pages is a Happy potter or Lord of the Rings? This thread is get wild.

If I remember right, I have one cable that splits into two 3(4) + 3(4) inputs. Thanks.

It would help to know which PSU. The initial response from @montymint suggested you use two separate cables, and I would agree with this based on my previous experience using just one that split into two at the end and causing problems.

You will be drawing over 250w through the cables (+ ~60/70w from PCI slot) and each 8pin cable is rated for 150w (6pin rated to 75w) While you can probably get away with more than the rating it is best to avoid it and be in the clear. I would check the PSU as a 750w should have more than one GPU (PCIe) cable, and 750w should be sufficient.

Also, I don't think there is a 4pin PCIe connector as they tend to be 6 or 8 (split ones being 6+2). The only 4+4 I know is the CPU power cable that generally plugs into the top of the motherboard.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVkAeyl1iuk&t=127s&ab_channel=RedGamingTech he overclocked it and had max. boost 2205Mhz. Thats highest boost clock i ever seen on any rtx 3080 without crashing

Make sure you don't daisy chain a single cable into the card, i.e use two cables for the two power sockets
Can I comfirm if the 2 cable approach is recommended for all PSUs or just ones that are borderline powerful enough? HAve an RM850x and wasnt sure if I should usse the "daisy chain" or a second cable.

allways recommended to have single cables on all power supplies.

Hi, thanks for your explanation. I have corsair r750i or rm. I was on their website and the only cable with 4+4 wad like you said CPU cable. I am clueless as to what cable to get and it needs to be compatible with my PSU. Could you plz help.

As stated above, you want to keep the cables separate for best power distribution into the card.

Your only other throw of the dice (if funds permit) is to keep the queue spot for nvidia and try having a go for big Navi when the orders go live then, however it's probabaly going to be just as much of a crapshoot. But at least you could cancel whichever one is despatched second.
