It would help to know which PSU. The initial response from @montymint suggested you use two separate cables, and I would agree with this based on my previous experience using just one that split into two at the end and causing problems.

You will be drawing over 250w through the cables (+ ~60/70w from PCI slot) and each 8pin cable is rated for 150w (6pin rated to 75w) While you can probably get away with more than the rating it is best to avoid it and be in the clear. I would check the PSU as a 750w should have more than one GPU (PCIe) cable, and 750w should be sufficient.

Also, I don't think there is a 4pin PCIe connector as they tend to be 6 or 8 (split ones being 6+2). The only 4+4 I know is the CPU power cable that generally plugs into the top of the motherboard.

I also have a corsair psu, a TX850M, and it is semi modular, and for GPU power there are two 8 pin sockets available, and it came with 2 pcie cables with 8 pin on one end that splits to two 6+2 pin on the other end. I have an Asus Rog Strix OC on order, and was wondering if the PSU would be sufficient with that cabling. Two cables supplying the three 8 pins on the GPU?

The date and time of my paypal payment and my email confirmation from OC are the same. Though the actual email from OC wasn't received for a day or two afterwards

the Strix OC requires 3 8 pins and for them to be separate cables not daisy chained, i suspect 2 would be fine if daisy chain one of them but that card can draw 450w+ when overclocked

I read all the comments about retaillers and OCUK not keeping people informed, but I have to say that the silence from Nvidia is deafening. Not just them but most of the board partners too. EVGA say they identified a problem with the PSCAPS on the card, but don't say when they identified it, nor whether they communicated it back to Nvidia. Surely by now Nvidia is fully aware of this and the least we can expect is some comments from them.

Now we don't know if the cards have been held back for remanufacturing or not. We don't even know if or when the board partners were informed about this, or what their intentions are, and they robably aren't even letting their retailler know whats going on.

This is a problem large organisations suffer from - excessive secrecy when things go wrong, and it takes a rather large stick to beat this mindset out of over cautious people

Yup was saying that from start. Jay blew it up all over internet with hes uneducated video.
It does seem that a few videos and posts blew this issue up way more than it needed to.

All brands having an issues should be the main thing here as most brands have different cap setups. All having an issue once getting above 2000mhz but some cards are stable up to 2100mhz+ meaning that have a great card.

Hopefully we are correct and this issue was just an off shoot of the low stock and people getting angry about not having cards yet.

yeah i received the paypal confirmation right away at 16:45 17th and order confirmation on 21st lol the day according to their statements tuf should be in stock :D
and i can confirm that bloke on the phone today said they have no bloody idea when they will have the cards :D and queuing matter will be inoduced quoting him " I imagine in NEXT couple weeks" end quote :D
nice init

One thing I'm not sure about is why you can't have one cable with two 8 pins? Like I have a G1+ (I think) it's a 1000w EVGA gold PSU and currently, I use my 5700xt and used my 1080 hybrid previously with one cable from the PSU that goes into 2 8 pins. Why would EVGA include such a cable if it was unable to meet the spec requirements of the connectors?

Not true I'm afraid, I've seen people getting their Paypal confirmation hours or days afterwards whereas I used AmazonPay and I got mine 13 mins later. Basically, it isn't clear cut.
I believe the payment confirmation comes once you get your Order Received email nothing else, doesn't matter if you got payment confirmation from your method first, doesn't mean OCUK have processed it

I've just cancelled my order on the MSI Ventus. Been waiting a while now with no real updates. Found a competitor who was able to give me an expected 'batch' number if not a concrete delivery date. Still had great experiences with OCUK in the past, but not particularly happy with this experience. I chose a card based on the estimated website date, price jumped up whilst in my basket, no information available on when it might come, or even my place in the queue. All the while I fear the OC queues are much longer than anywhere else as pre-orders have been available for the duration.

Credit to them for making the refund process so simple though, definitely makes me feel a lot better as a customer(and Nvidia are still public enemy #1 in this whole affair it seems!). Hope you guys all get your cards soon

each rail in the PSU can only supply so much W, as this card is going to draw lots of power under certain circumstances you could put 1 rail under to much pressure which will result in a crash

It looks as though a true queue system is just fluff and we will never actually see it. They said they would do it to calm people, then hope that people will forget it, or more people will have their orders and simply not care.

How can you have a queue system in 2/3 weeks when XXX amount of orders could be fulfilled by then!?
