Still radio silence I see. As each day passes OCUK looks more and more unprofessional.

Before long people are going to start thinking they are purposefully withholding information from customers, it definitely looks that way.

This is a well known business that's been selling PC components for years, you wouldn't think it given their response to customers and the way they are behaving.

I have also noticed a small but very vociferous section of forum members that defend their poor customer service, this small section of forum members who refuse to say a bad word are not doing you any favours, these aren't the people you should be concerned with.

New customers are making up the majority of complaints here and long term customers like myself who can objectively see that the way you're handling this is extremely poor and THESE are the people who aren't going to be using OCUK again, that should be your concern, not getting repeat business from these customers because of poor customer service, that should be of huge concern, no amount of pre-orders will make up for the long term damage done to your business.

Food for thought.

i paid via paypal using my card? does it syill cover the time i placed the order ?
Oh great. Hitachi took 5 days to contact me to process my finance so now I'm effecti
Just got off the phone with OCuK.

They said the queue position they're configuring will be based on the time order is placed for people who paid by card.

If you paid my Amazon, Finance, etc. then the queue position is based on the time the payment/agreement was approved.

They also said we will be waiting for the queue system for another 2-3 weeks.

Oh great, Hitachi finance took 5 days to confirm my finance agreement.

Dunno about you guys (im prob going to get hammered for this), but its times like these although fully frustrated there is a kind of fun in the game of figuring things out as a collective and all going through the very REAL wait together.
One thing I'm not sure about is why you can't have one cable with two 8 pins? Like I have a G1+ (I think) it's a 1000w EVGA gold PSU and currently, I use my 5700xt and used my 1080 hybrid previously with one cable from the PSU that goes into 2 8 pins. Why would EVGA include such a cable if it was unable to meet the spec requirements of the connectors?

it'll prob be fine, I've ran all my cards from my RMX850 daisy single cable and not had any issues, but the power draw on these cards is higher so people are educatamaguessing that it'll be better to have 2 single cables rather than daisy
and to be clear that is a better solution for better even power i guess. but it should still be ok.,

Well said, ive used OCUK since 1999 and im shocked tbh.

each rail in the PSU can only supply so much W, as this card is going to draw lots of power under certain circumstances you could put 1 rail under to much pressure which will result in a crash

Okay, but what I mean is wouldn't they ensure it could provide enough power in this case 300w from that rail as they included a cable that in theory would be pulling that much? And if I look at the side of the PSU it only has 1 12v? Sorry for noob questions I might take this over to a different PSU forum.

All brands having an issues should be the main thing here as most brands have different cap setups. All having an issue once getting above 2000mhz but some cards are stable up to 2100mhz+ meaning that have a great card.
I think there's an element of more than one thing happening here.

EVGA have actively said they changed the capacitor layout. So it does suggest there was a problem caused by that. Not sure they'd have done that unless there was a reason to.

But was it the only problem causing CTD? Probably not.

There are some dramatic posts in here to be honest. I’m as annoyed as anyone but we all knew it was a pre-order with no date. We all know the world is struggling to keep up with this pandemic and we all know nvidia have a potential lemon on their hands with the capacitor issue. Being dramatic is only you upsetting you. Pretty sure we can get by with a little patience... or cancel and get the money back. There really is no alternative right now.

I'm getting worried as well.

I expected delays for a number of weeks but its not even about this anymore.

The communication from OCUK is actually shocking. They need to have a trickle of updates, even if it is nothing great or positive, they need to keep us informed.

It's nearly 5 days without any update in any way. I'm happy to wait, but I'd like to be communicated with.

I'm sure there's a lot of words going back and forth between Nvidia, AIBs and Retailers and it's likely unpleasent but they need to communicate with us.

Just, *******, talk,

ohh just stop this ********, the problem is ppl like u dont help, and problem is that ppl placed the orders no one gives a **** to notify the ppl whats happening behind the scene, took the money nd now we can see the middle finger,
stop brown nosing,

How can you have a queue system in 2/3 weeks when XXX amount of orders could be fulfilled by then!?

Because only a tiny percentage will probably be filled by then. It's golden week from the 1st October-7th October so no cards will even be made for a full week and production won't really start again until the 12th. Shipments from partners may be sent out again prior to the 1st but they'll likely still be small.

That's insane, why would they not just use the time of order for everyone? Payment processing time is hardly the fault of the buyer...

This is surely going to cause a lot of unnecessary upset if true.
It's True think its been mentioned by staff on forums.

The total power in watts is volts x current. So 12x83 = 996w. As shown in the image. The issue is that the cable rating is lower. Hence you need multiple cables from the PSU to the card. I have radio equipment that is rated for 20a @ 12v. The single cables for that much current are quite thick. The 30+a cable needed for a single cable to feed a card would be really hard to route in the case. Hence they use multiple lower rating ones.

Not sure about the "rail" business. You have a rail for each voltage.. SOME PSUs might provide separate 12v rails. But yours doesn't. This (I believe) is purely about cabling and not rails. I think your PSU is fine.
