Ironically, if they provided more information, less people would likely cancel.
When the HP Reverb G2 got delayed by a couple of weeks, they did a proper press release but also a Reddit AMA. Because people were getting lots of information it was interesting to see lots of comments about "being happy to wait".
I think customers just want to feel listened to and respected. We all know that OCUK can't bring the cards any quicker than they already are. If OCUK told me that I likely won't have my card until mid-November I wouldn't cancel, but I would really appreciate knowing what to reasonably expect. Right now, I don't know if I will have the card next week or next year.

Agreed, humans work much better if they know what's going on, so it would be great if OC would be willing to give as much info as they can.

Someone said they should get "a card" before someone who ordered later, regardless of which cards we ordered. And I agree that from one perspective this sounds fair, but given the variety in brands, prices etc, I'm not sure this algorithm can be fairly implemented because not everybody feels that way, nor would everybody who ordered a 650 quid card be happy to get the 850 quid one just to gain (say) a day or two earlier delivery.

In my personal case, yes, I would be happy to get 'any brand' that is cheaper than 730 quid if it improved my queue length meaningfully (e.g. 3 weeks) but it's much to complicated for OCUk to create such an algorithm that implements this fairly. I'd love for them to try ;) but I think it's not going to be urgent for them

So yes please, OCUK, provide us with
- My spot in the queue for the particular card. "There are still xyz customers who ordered the Asus TUF before you"
- Current inflow of cards e.g. "We received 50 TUF cards last week"
Or any other pertinent factors we could base an estimate on if we 'plot the progression' a bit.

As someone else said I have no clue if it'll be october or february, and even though it won't really change my behaviour (not going to pay a scalper lowlife) it will improve my annoyance a massive amount if I know which date is the current best guess.

My watch has ended....

Gaming X Trio just got shipping notification... Ordered at 14:05 on launch day, was 17 in the unofficial queue

Wow congratulations buddy. I too ordered at 14.05 and haven't had anything?!?!

Fingers crossed I've not just missed out.. what second did you order 14.05.37 I was haha

I wouldn't expect to keep my position if I changed card. You don't get to jump ahead of someone else. It's not fair.
It's a complete lottery as to which cards are stocked and which are not. Changing card could actually make you get the card later than if you'd stayed.

I realise they are different products so technically different queues, but I think the reality is that most early adopters are not that bothered what brand they have. They just want a 3080.

The thing about queue jumping:

Imagine you're at the store. And for each product there's a separate vendor with its own waiting queue. And at one moment you decide to go to another product, because your queue takes longer to advance. What do you do? Go right to the counter because you were there earlier than most of the people from the other queue? You'd be mauled there because you've jumped queues and expect to be treated preferentially. If you'd like the other product, you'd join the queue at the last existing position available to you.

Or in any place really. Thinking of a park too. You don't get to leave a line for one ride and expect to be put ahead of others in another ride.

No queuing system works like that, technologically and in the real world. Back of the line everytime you change

I was 14:05:09... Someone at 14:09 just got a shipping notification so hopefully you'll get one soon. Again, we don't really know how payment method affects it, I paid with card so it was immediate

I asked this morning on phone with OC about arranging my recent Asus Tuf order to be placed in the queue where I cancelled my MSi 3080 and was told it would be 'fraud'. Really?

Guy seemed to have a bad attitude this morning. Great customer service.

If you cancel your order, you should lose your place. You'd be ordering the new card now and should be placed at the end of that queue. Other people ordered that card before you did.

NEWS JUST IN...

MSI ORDER HAS SHIPPPED order time.14.05.37 SECONDS

GOOD LOOK ALL!! THANKS FOR ALL THE POSTS.

LET YOU KNOW ABOUT THE CAPS

P.S Payment method doesn't matter on queue placement. I ordered vis PayPal.

Just got off the phone with OCUK and have cancelled my MSI Trio Order. I ordered at 15:27 and was in the top 300 for deliveries but given the low number of cards being recieved, it was likely to be a months of waiting at the minimum according to them. Not in a mad rush anyway so decided to cancel but hopefully will give you all an idea of where you are in the que. They have also said that an official update with current places in the que will be coming this week.

They said it would be months?
