Again Palit with the nice transparent information to customers
UK and Europe shipment on route Airmail yesterday, to arrive this week or next week
Unfortunately still small numbers but they are increasing

Weird how a single customer such as myself can keep getting information but OCUK are radio silent

Not weird at all, there is no useful information in that message from the OCUK perspective.

Anything less than confirmed tracking from local distribution doesn't rate a mention and even that is suspect until it actually arrives at the warehouse door and has been checked in so they know which versions of the cards they have received and how many of them.

It is easy for the manufacturers to deflect questions with vague promises, OCUK would prefer to deal with certainties and I don't blame them for that.

Well they are a business. To play devil's advocate for a second, there's a warning about wait times, there's an option to cancel and, well, we're grown ups. Add to that the fact that other sites don't let you pre-order anymore and I can kind of understand it (though it's easy for me to say, I was waiting for the AMD announcement in any case). Considering there are tons of cards on ebay with the seller using their position in a sales queue as the basis for the sale this seems tame in comparison.

Maybe it'll hurt their reputation or repeat business but since all of the competition has been affected in the same way I reckon someone, somewhere has decided it's worth the risk.

Yeah you aren't wrong to be fair. Nothing against them for it but it still baffles me. Just feel like if they removed that option then managing expectations would probably be a lot easier especially with a lot of the questions around a queue. On the other hand though there will then be people unhappy that they can't order

incorrect. You can (apparently but we’ll wait for formal confirmation by OC) swap your order for one of the same or lesser value. So you won’t be able to swap for a 3090. Also you may have ordered the wrong card?

So the Tuf 3080 which was ~£650 at launch, is now £719.99, and most cards as far as I recall were less than 719 at launch. So, only those who originally ordered one of the quite expensive cards could swap, or someone who ordered later when the prices had gone up.

Sent a web note stating @Gibbo has given up with addressing this queue jumping issue and if the sales team can provide a clear statement if happening, and if so why is it allowed.
I expect no replies...
i also did send a webnote about my order, I am not sure, how do they answer? You get the answer via Email oder under your account @ overclockers website?

A proper queue data structure have only 3 operations: insert, pop and peek. You can peek at any position, insert only on the back, and pop only from the front. A less conservative queue allows for free removal, but never free insertion, free insertion break completely the idea of queue.

Competitor online stock status that was showing EVGA due today - just changed to N/A with the WC 28th already delayed to the following week - i would not expect any EVGA cards for a while.
Then there will be a gap following that shipment.

Unofficial queue said I was in the first 90 orders - but obviously that has its known issues - hoping before xmas...

Thanks a lot for the update amigo, really appreciated in these FOMO times we are all living in. I hope OCUK issues a statement ricki-tiki-quick and good luck to all of us !

Me too man
Pretty weird how Palit can update me on their shipments almost daily
But mostly silence here even though they know those shipping dates also

With all this swapping of orders now it will be like a motorway queue with people changing lanes to get a few car(d)s ahead
The only fair way to do this is to offer a choice of whatever cards are in stock as a customer reaches the head of the master queue.

I made this account out of frustration regarding this dumb queue jump talk. Everyone is getting riled up about something that a <10 post user heard somebody say to his mate on the phone who is apparently from OCUK(!).

Yet there are actual direct quotes from OCUK staff on this forum saying that if you wanna swap, cancel your order and re-submit a new order and get in line to the back of the queue. Its not really that difficult is it? All of this speculation based on everything but fact. On top of this, I see people saying that they've called 20x times this morning, send IMs to forum staff here, there and everywhere, just relax lol. Take a deep breath and wait like everyone else. Its just a GPU!

Care to link to those direct quotes?

If the information is inaccurate then a member of OCUK staff such as @Gibbo or @NikTheSHNIK could quite easily pop in here and tell everyone that it's not the truth and that anybody who changes order has to start at the back of the queue.

Takes seconds to address that issue.

Sorry but you are wrong... Someone who ordered at 5pm can swap for card that only been ordered 50 times and get it before someone who ordered at 14:25 because there was 200 orders before him for such card
No you ordered a specific card not just a time slot, it is not ethical or moral to swap to a different card and jump ahead of people who have ordered that card in good faith just because you cannot be bothered waiting for your specific card to come in.

Any card swaps should require a cancel and reorder, very shoddy practice doing it any other way and quite possibly against Consumer Law or whatever..
