The fact that you viewed my post as a threat tells me everything I need to know about your mentality when it comes to this company, immediately jumped on the defensive didn't you?

Nowhere in my post did I give an ultimatum, all I said was "it needs addressing right now, no excuses" and I said that because it's awful business practice and terrible for customers.

This is something I am definitely considering cancelling over and that's me being honest, I don't mind waiting for a card but having people skipping ahead of me whilst I am waiting is simply wrong, it could extend the wait for a card by months.

So I want clarification from @Gibbo that this is indeed the policy so I can make an informed decision.

Again Palit with the nice transparent information to customers
UK and Europe shipment on route Airmail yesterday, to arrive this week or next week
Unfortunately still small numbers but they are increasing

Weird how a single customer such as myself can keep getting information but OCUK are radio silent

Thanks a lot for the update amigo, really appreciated in these FOMO times we are all living in. I hope OCUK issues a statement ricki-tiki-quick and good luck to all of us !

Dammm, my order was on 22, so mybe in January or February :(

We don’t know what is going to happen in the next couple of months. Retailers may start getting stock, people may switch to a 3070, or big navi which is behind the corner. AMD Made it sounds like they will not have the same stock issues, according to a tweet I saw a few days back. At the end of the day, you may be able to grab a card by the end of year, or before.

Yo know its good for all to be delayed the shipment, the issue with all 30 series gpu not solved yet, so if you want to overclock to high frequency u should wait.

without a proper binning process of the cpu die I really doubt any of these cards will be “good overclockers” there is no fault with the cards the 8nm node and the architecture are pushed to the limits already this generation. It’s why I feel the strix cards and the aureus cards and the evga top cards all massively delayed at launch and it’s why I feel people on those cards will be in for a Much longer wait (sorry guys)

Sorry for the mass quoting, but I feel it may be relevant to all the above. I asked in the customer support forum the following:

"
I have just seen on the relevant thread that positions are assigned not based on when orders are placed, and payment is held/started, but when the payment is actually fully processed. For e.g that in my case for order

Order Number: [ SNIP ]

Date ordered: 17/09/2020 15:10:23

Payment Method: Amazon_Payments

Shipping Method: DPD Two Day

that my position would not be based on the 15:10:23 on the 17th, which is when Amazon said the transaction had started, but rather 00:31 on the 18th when amazon said the transaction had completed. Can you please confirm this?"

and received the following response:

"Q positions are based upon date/time ordered - your position will be based off the following: Date ordered: 17/09/2020 15:10:23 "

So it looks like it's when the payment is started, not when it is completed. Hope it puts your minds at ease!

Cheers mate! Good to know. Christmas may not be cancelled after all.

Been keeping up with the thread as I ordered a 3080 but eventually decided to cancel. Think I'll wait to see what big Navi can do or just pick one up later hopefully the prices go back to the ones on the Nvidia site not £40 or more over it.

But 1 thing still baffles me about OCuk. Why when people are trying to get a 3080 that ordered on the 17th are they still letting people pre-order? Every other site I've looked at has just removed that option which will be far easier to keep up with them as they clear backlogs etc

Well they are a business. To play devil's advocate for a second, there's a warning about wait times, there's an option to cancel and, well, we're grown ups. Add to that the fact that other sites don't let you pre-order anymore and I can kind of understand it (though it's easy for me to say, I was waiting for the AMD announcement in any case). Considering there are tons of cards on ebay with the seller using their position in a sales queue as the basis for the sale this seems tame in comparison.

Maybe it'll hurt their reputation or repeat business but since all of the competition has been affected in the same way I reckon someone, somewhere has decided it's worth the risk.

$$$$ in the bank.

Although people swapping their orders doesn't really bother me that much I can't see how it's going to work for OCUK when they finally release the que system. People are going to be swapping left right and centre it'll surely create them a ton of extra work.

Also if the 3070, 3080-20GB or Big Navi releases before people get their 3080's can they swap to that?

You can’t make a queue if people can change queues.
