With all this swapping of orders now it will be like a motorway queue with people changing lanes to get a few car(d)s ahead
The only fair way to do this is to offer a choice of whatever cards are in stock as a customer reaches the head of the master queue.

There is a whole new sales method here & that its a "I don't care, (click your maximum price limit box) & just instruct the seller to send out the first thing that becomes available to ship!

It might revolutionize the whole selling market, I would use it for one!

Hopefully you never get a card then.

I made this account out of frustration regarding this dumb queue jump talk. Everyone is getting riled up about something that a <10 post user heard somebody say to his mate on the phone who is apparently from OCUK(!).

Yet there are actual direct quotes from OCUK staff on this forum saying that if you wanna swap, cancel your order and re-submit a new order and get in line to the back of the queue. Its not really that difficult is it? All of this speculation based on everything but fact. On top of this, I see people saying that they've called 20x times this morning, send IMs to forum staff here, there and everywhere, just relax lol. Take a deep breath and wait like everyone else. Its just a GPU!

Hi, I'm a queue-switcher. I agree it's a dumb system but works in my favour, so I used it.

Here's my confirmations side-by-side. I was told by three different members of staff (two on Discord, and a third on the phone when paying the difference in price), that I'd be keeping my queue position based on my order number and time - you can see on the invoices that they're the same on old and new.

I agree it's an odd stance, and I don't like the idea of people switching just to get their card sooner. I switched for a number of reasons but will probably get the card later as a result - not by much, but a little later. I'm also higher up in the ASUS queue than I was in the Gigabyte one, which suggests less people ordered ASUS than Gigabyte, although not sure if that's useful or relevant.

Care to link to those direct quotes?

If the information is inaccurate then a member of OCUK staff such as @Gibbo or @NikTheSHNIK could quite easily pop in here and tell everyone that it's not the truth and that anybody who changes order has to start at the back of the queue.

Takes seconds to address that issue.

Well, I rang up and switched from a Ventus to a Palit. Paid the difference via debit card and kept the same order number so presumably the same slot for the queue. Note - I ordered on the 19th so am wayy down anyway. I was 1700 (unofficial queue) for a Ventus so decided to switch to a Palit so instead of being 1700 in the Ventus queue I was at the back of the Palit queue which was smaller.

You are right if you mean they both end up getting different cards.

OC have stated the first come first server is based on your order time - and you are free to switch your order to a different card and not be put to the back of the queue - you will be put in the queue for your new card at the place you would have been if you ordered it instead of the one you originally selected.

Cust 1 orders a TUF card at 14:05 order number xxx10 - but say he has 100 people in front of him waiting for that card
Cust 2 orders a MSI card at 14:06 order number xxx11 - but say he only has 3 people in front of him waiting for that card

If cust 1 decides to now swap to a MSI as he does not want to wait for 100 orders in front to be fulfilled, he can swap to be in the MSI queue - but still at 14:05 and with the same order number.

He has jumped in front of cust 2 who now has 4 people in front of him - the problem is this can be a lot of people doing this and with such tight order times, who knows where you will end up.

If both customers stick with their original orders and 10 MSI and 10 TUF cards come in - yes the customer who ordered later will get their card first, but thats how it should be.

My point was getting your order in earlier gives you the option to switch to any card you like and jump ahead in that particular card queue - you still might be waiting longer than those looking at a Palit or other low ordered cards.

Exactly why it is a very bad practice and should not be condoned, highly dubious in legal eyes I would imagine as well.

So you don’t like the idea of switching........ but you did it anyway? At least be honest, as you were in your second line. It’s something that’s easily exploited, so you used it.

I agree. Just relax. Put your order in and they will arrive when they arrive.

Posting full email again to be clearer - again, i did not swap and have not - they mixed up my request to cancel a TUF screen with i want to swap to a TUF card.
That is the only reason i got in touch to cancel a screen off my order.

I posted here to inform everyone and to hopefully have OCUK clear up the details, as customer service is saying one thing and then on the forum its posted something else.
CS are also telling people a queue will be sent today or tomorrow - but how does that work with people swapping - we just want some clarity - I know i will be waiting a while and I am okay with that.

Thanks for bumping me up the Eagle queue ;) how do you know you were higher up in the Asus queue? Unofficial queue? Do you mind asking me if there’s a major reason for your switch or is it just preference?

i might change my order to Gigabyte Vision or Zotac holo. My order time is 15:14 17th September. Unofficial i am 330th. I think i will get gigabyte or zotac much faster than my original order which is Msi Trio.
It is just sad, we are not getting any info from staff. If it is allowed to change order and keep order time, then why we don't do it?

I'm being as honest as I can and that's exactly it. I'm not sure I'd use the term "exploit" as it's something OC actually offered to me when I mentioned I wish I'd got another card before the capacitor thing even came about. I initially declined, but then that issue was a sort of final nail and took them up on the offer.

As I said I wouldn't switch to just get a card faster, I think that's a pretty scummy reason for someone to change. But pretty much any reason to actually want a different card, I don't blame others for doing what I did.

I ordered a usb pen drive at 14:00 on the 17th.
Can i switch it to a Asus 3080 and not lose my place in the queue?

I mean WTAF.

I feel for customers who have been bumped down the waiting list because of this pish posh

Yup, it ******* sucks tbh. I'm going to see if this mythical official queue thing turns up (which I doubt), then make a decision from there. This is all starting to feel like a massive waste of my time and money tbh
