Is it a safe bet to assume stock will normalise towards the end of the year or will we still be fighting tooth and nail to get one?

I’m looking to do an upgrade come December / January so not in a rush but if the situation is same as now might be better to actively source sooner.

Tooth and nail till March 2021. 6 months from launch to normalise me thinks. Post Xmas for sure things will be looking a bit better.

Great to see forum users getting their cards, its heartening there is a trickle appearing.

An aside for the forum and I suspect this will be ignored. There is a real lack of official updates here given the significance of the funds paid by customers in good faith. This put up or shut up mentality isnt healthy. The nature of the conversations on this platform is such that it would be helpful to get a daily update. Even if it is bad news simply demonstrating via written communications the activity (peddling hard) to get customers their products and essentially massage peoples concerns is appropriate. OcUK have stated they plan to provide an official queue mechanism (and CS staff suggested this would be available last week) this has obviouslyt been delayed. Confirming this is still their intent and maybe helping us understand whats causing the friction preventing them providing the queue info is all that is required. I dont think it would take much for the vast majority to feel conected to this brand rather than dislocated.

Cards just arrived! Good luck all still waiting. Just a shame I won't be able to test it out until after work lol

I am looking to get a 3070 hopefully before Chrimbo to replace my venerable 980ti which runs out of warranty next year.
However, AMD might change my mind if they can deliver both on price, stock and performance. But I don't really hold out hope before then. Also we have an event at the end of Jan that might push prices up. So sooner rather than later.

Just speculating here but I think half the problem maybe, people are still cancelling and changing orders, and they maybe dont want to give people a wrong queue number, incase they cancel because its higher than they liked, They dont want to lose sales with incorrect information IMO,
Who knows,
From what ive seen there has been updates,
Were told when they are expecting stock and how much "roughly" sometimes,
People were also told on the 17th i think, if you ordered after 3pm on the 17th you were looking at October/November , between 2 and 3 pm September/October, along that sort of time frame anyway, it was what seems like ages ago now that was said so dont hang me if thats incorrect lol.
So if you ordered a day or days later its pretty obvious by now your boned lol, Unless your particular card manufacturer pulls their finger out their butt and makes a lot of cards.... fast,

local shop in Lithuania got some Gigabyte 3080 cards (8 total and to no surprise still all in stock)... but for 1200€-1350€

another shop had some from ASUS and MSI for 1000-1100€ as well... prices are insane

They know people will buy out of desperation

Yes, absolutely. To pay a significant amount up-front and to hear next to no news is simply unacceptable. They delays are (somewhat) out of OC's control. The apathy with which they are treating their paying customers is not.

There is no super special separate 3080 queuing system. When stock comes in, the system pulls up the oldest open order with that stock item on it and the friendly packing person tosses it in a box with a bag of sugary treats. To do what people want, they'd have to tell phone staff to not let people swap 3080s.

It's a pretty safe bet stock will have normalised by the 27th October !

Hello all,

Not sure if someone here is following other vendor websites situation, but checking it, it seems MSI will be delivering every week. There is no mention of quantity or anything. But assume OC is the biggest store in UK, the majority of cards could be delivered for us.

MSI
28th Delayed to 14th - 16th
5th Expected 7th - 9th
12th Expected 14th - 16th

It is safe to assume that everyone who ordered on the 20.09 and later will not see the card till next year and people who ordered on the 17th and 18th might get the card end or October or end of November. There are shortages of these cards everywhere and the whole world of retailers is waiting for stock. Goodbye ray tracing in cyberpunk, see you next year, if I do not loose patience, cancel my order, forget about my gsync monitor and get AMD card.
