*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

@Jxy98
You wanna call and cancel the large queue number one asap. I've seen people on these forums say they had two orders and OCUK will cancel one of them. And they canceled the one that was less popular for them.
If your not needing 2 or scalping I would hurry and cancel the big queue one now before ocuk cancel the low queue one
I have already filled out the form yesterday , would it be best to give them a ring anyway?

It's been emotional. It's been a pleasure.

TUF OC #562 out

Order cancelled. Good luck soldiers.

It seems that the botched launch of the RTX30xx series is driving the price of the older 20xx series up on Ebay with people paying over £600 for new RTX 2070 super, and prices of used ones North of £350 which is more than they were fetching pre launch date announcement. This seems to be a knock on effect of stock shortages and people bailing out too early, I expect that when stock does being to flow, prices of these cards is going to collapse.

Hey guys. I'm new here. Got an email from OC a few days ago. My queue is: 185 for Asus TUF OC. Any ideas on how long it might take for me to get mine?

I order my non OC TUF on the 17th around 11pm. My queue position is 764 which is less than half of what the non official queue generator predicted. So yeah, still a long way off but my patience will hold out.

My biggest dilemma is do I water cool it or not?

Of course, you do!! I plan on water cooling mine. I'll wait until I have the card in hand before I order the block as I'm way down the list at #943

Not sure where you have gotten that info from.

What card are you currently using as both HDMI and Display Port will give 144Hz on that monitor. However will only work if your current display device/card has HDMI 1.3 or later. Also, make sure your PC refresh rate is set to 144Hz if using HDMI
Please see manufacturer link. It says 144hz only through DVI.

I plugged in using hdmi and refresh rate option is greyed out in windows. It defaults to 60 hz. 144hs is unlocked when using DVI cable.
I use gtx 1080.

I’m at 154 and when I asked before the emails went out, the CS rep said weeks as opposed to months for me. So I’m guessing around 5-6 weeks if 30 cards per week...

Just recieved a message from a friend who also ordered a 3080 ROG Strix OC. Apparently overclockers said to him over the phone that these cards arent arriving until Nov/Dec.

I would take this with a pinch of salt. There are a lot of people who have said customer service said xyz which have turned out to be incorrect or just fake. We will just have to wait and see. There was one guy on the ASUS DIY facebook group who stated that an un-named UK supplier had stated that they expected stock later next week. This was also the same for another EU suppliers posts but this was later updated and delayed with the supplier told they were awaiting materials. Obviously golden week will also effect this. It would be a shame is someone seen this and went ok best cancel my order for the stock to then come in earlier than nov/dec.

Oh but they did, it was amaz ing
I didn't get one though just wondered if anyone did
Just like the catalogue place had 100x 3080 and 100x 3090 but every single order got refunded.I also ordered at the rain forest for the asus within one minute of being listed on launch day and still got cancelled.

Ok this is interesting, went to ASUS homepage. 3 out of 4 3080 have where to buy links - STRIX OC and bot TUF cards. It even shows on ASUS page that it is in stock, while going to stores we see that there is either preorder or available when in stock. Could that mean t least, that we can expect stock arriving soon ?

I think my favourite thing about all this is that I ordered a new car from factory a week before I ordered my Strix Non-OC on the 17th. That entered build a few weeks ago and looks like I’m going to get that before the GPU. They literally built a car and shipped it from Germany before I could get a GPU from China.

Damn you got lucky, i was quoting a car at Ford and if went for specific setup, i would have ended up waiting 3-5 months :D Ended up buying used one, as my misus was against spending 3k on a go :D

I was feeling this, but my laptop is really on the way down - I was going to hold on building a computer entirely for all the new stuff coming out but I want to be sure I've gotten myself across to my new machine before it dies.

I was also thinking that I'm not averse to getting a cheaper 2070 super, sticking the leftover money aside, playing my games that I already have on the 1080/60 display (nothing spectacular or AAA from this year or last, these were on my console) and then getting the 3080 and a monitor together in April - June when all this mess will hopefully have quietened down a fair bit.

That said, it would be nice if stock turned up earlier than expected... I will have to have a good think about it, thanks for the recommendation.

i really can’t encourage you strongly enough to pause for the 3000 series GPU. I am like you, moved from Laptop with 2070MaxQ which provided a fantastic gaming experience and desperate to get the final piece of a PC new build. The issue your going to have in a matter of 20-30 days the 2070S is going to be massively superseded by the 3000 series. The 3070 is as strong (apparently) and same price or maybe less, as a 2080Ti (which again is significantly stronger than a 2070S. Find a way of either A. Waiting or B. Pausing gaming for a short period if laptop finally gives up the ghost. Buyer remorse will ensue otherwise.

I've water cooled all my cards so far however I always feel a sense of disappointment after as you go from a lovely big heavy and intricated piece of air cooled hardware to, well, something thats not! Who am I kidding though, its inevitable!

I really don’t want to sell mine, although the price is tempting. Could be sitting here for 3 months more without a gaming card.
