Well if AMD release a card that outperforms the 3080, has 16gb VRAM and is cheaper then I'm sure nvidia didnt want to be stuck with a surplus of the 10gb as the 20gb would have to be released at the same MSRP.

Hmm, good point. I would've thought that the 20GB variant would be a seperate model though, with a choice between that or the 10GB version. Plus that'd surely screw over the AIB manufacturers?

The 3080 10gb was probably just a limited run till the 20gb versions arrive.

I doubt it was planned to be however it may end up that way if they can't get their **** together quick enough, they will be launching new cards before these arrive at this rate!!

i sold my msi 2080 trio x few weeks ago in hope of getting 3080 , so cant play any game right now.but it was a good deal ,had to get rid of the card early.

yes they did, for me it always gonna be intel and nvidia, and i would wait months for 3080 even if amd releases a better card.

Well I gave up waiting and purchased My EVGA 3080 Gaming card for £1000 Yes I paid a prem for it but I'm happy now , don't mind paying a little more having the card now and not having to spend hours here everyday for updates ha. just tried out RDR2 ultra 4k boom its amazing.

That would turn the situation into an thermonuclear detonation. If AMD come out with that on release day - 3070 releases soon after and within a week 3080 Super 20Gb gets announced while there are months of queues on the books for a standard 10Gb you will get everyone with a new 3080 in uproar that they have been had for being enthusiasts and god knows what will happen to the pre-orders. I don't see how nvidia can announce the 20Gb cards earlier than Apr/May time.

@EVH @Gibbo I know giving away a total of dispatched cards isn't something you can do but what are the chances that if we get a card delivered in the next week or two that it'll include the watchdogs code as I understand there was only 1000? Also, is that 1000 shared between 3080+3090 or separate?
