*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Then why not do what every other company ever does and either:
1) Take a deposit, not the full amount.
2) Not charge the person until the item's about to be dispatched.

Jeeze, stop defending OC when they're doing *objectively* scummy things in terms of communication.

If they did that every chancer on the internet would place an order hoping to get a card they could scalp on Ebay and the site would be innundated by these kind of orders.
You're thinking this from a selfish own perspective - try seeing the bigger picture, it does help.

I don’t know?

Off the top of my head it would stop the 100,000 bots from preordering at no financial penalty? At least by taking the money they’re confirming that it’s a genuine purchase. Scalpers or not, someone has paid.

I can’t defend their business practices, that’s their choice but your choice is to cancel and get your money back if you don’t like it. After all, if I wanted the card today I’d have to hand over the money today ... it’s not like they’re keeping me from buying food and water by holding on to it early. If I didn’t have the money I wouldn’t have ordered.

Have to agree, once you have say 500 orders per card, OCUK should stop taking pre-orders for that card. Else you'll have paid full price for something you wont get for 6 months.
Not good.

No Palit and Ventus came in and were dispatched last week without any info in update thread, not the first time either other s have come in and out with nothing in there either.

Some Gigabyte Vision as well. It's almost as if the OCUK purchasing manager doesn't know about incoming stock. That or doesn't care to update us.

ok don't want to be that guy but, realistically, should I just cancel my order? I'm 1430 in TUF non OC
Realistically? Yes. Don't expect to get your card before next year, and potentially not as soon as February.

But you know, there's always that one in a million chance that in November OCuk might magically get a shipment of 6000 cards to clear most of its backlog of preorders and yours would be only a couple of weeks away then.
The question is: do you feel lucky enough that you'd win the Euromillion lottery?

(ANOTHER WORD FOR)realistically they are going to have all those out sooner than the other AIBs they 'stock' so you could just sit on it and it might come this side of the year, possibly in time for christmas, in the mean time there are multiple under £100 graphic card options to tide you over if you require one for a new build as i do

Anyone on here had a Palit (Gaming Pro non-OC to be specific) card delivered from OcUK? Ive seen on twitter on people on here say that Palit have been shipping to UK. Also heard from people on here OcUK has sent out Palit more than others but Gibbo never seems to update us

There has been quite a few yeah
I'm pretty low in the gaming pro OC queue but seems to have been mostly non oc cards so far

Do you even understand what a preorder is? Serious question.

You’re buying a slot in a queue. That slot is at the back, not the front. It doesn’t matter how many preorders they sell it simply means that it will take longer for them to fulfil it.

What is so outrageous? If you’ve preordered then you’ll get a card eventually... adding more on to the waiting list isn’t going to affect that.

The alternative is to not allow preorders and you can hope to spot when the cards come in stock, refresh the browser 10182732224 times and not get one.

I’m sure they’ll start communicating more frequently when they know what’s going on. The moderating team has relayed everyone’s concerns and will continue to liaise with the shop but ultimately we just have to wait.

Just simple questions. Why you don't inform how many 3080 graphic cards arriving at your shop? Why do you use subjective terminology like "a small amount", "OK". If I pay upfront, I should have at least information on how many cards incoming per delivery from producers.

Nobody knows for sure.

On the one hand you are in the biggest queue and a long way down but so far Asus TUF OC have been some of the most shipped cards so not they have gone back to work at the factory then you might suddenly find your card coming in in batches of 200 (or you might not)

Or you could jump to another make of card which isnt popular and maybe become no 90 in the queue. But what happens if only 5 a week come in of that card?

I would wait another week or so and see what everybody's deliveries are like after the holidays.

Because of NDAs signed with Nvidia.

Probably will unless I get some kind of insane queue update in the next week or so.
There are better places that 700 can go to until stock stabilises

Anyone else come to terms their card will arrive when it arrives and are no longer bothered if it comes before January, but still can’t stop checking the threads? Or is that just me? :D
